Taklimat PTD.ppt

By the way, here are two PowerPoint files which will presumably be presented at the end of the PAC session.

Latar Belakang dan Peranan PTD (MS PowerPoint)

Pelaksanaan Pelan Latihan Perkhidmatan PTD (MS PowerPoint)

It is my understanding that the information in these slides will be very important should the candidates proceed to the interview stage. Before anyone starts yelling OSA, I would like to say that these files are also available in other PTD-related sites, and they appear to have been provided by Unit Diploma Perkhidmatan Awam INTAN.

Hope this helps.

agree with you that we should try our very best, as we all know the process to get this post is very, very competitive.

on the other hand i beg to differ with your opinion on sizing up the c ...

it depends on the person really... some of us may have the same thought as you are... but some just don't care about their "competitors"... or feels that by knowing more, it makes them more nervous on facing tough competition (on paper that is... some may not live up to their billings...of course)...

as for me...i don't care about them... i personally feels that i can give my best this way... and knowing that i have done my best... although it may not be enough to pose a challenge on them... will make me feel good...

but a little research won't harm anyone...right?

we have someone from jpm... consul's daugther and fresh grads  in our session...

175 peoples... 175 faces...  it just too much to do some research on...

Kena buat bodoh jer...

hehehe..tak der lah..just ikut arahan dari semasa ke semasa.....jangan takut...relaks..be yourself..jgn over confident..kekadang panel tak suka....sbb PTD byk berhubung dengan org ramai sekeliling..dari yg tua shingga yg muda..dari yg celik huruf hingga yg terlebih pandai...dari org bandar hingga luar bandar..so, kalau kita gaya berlagak...mcm mana nak kerja dgn org ramai...PTD bukan kerja duduk dalam bilik berhawa dingin, berkerusi empuk sahaja..its more than that...apa pun bila ke PAC,...boleh dapat ramai kenalan baru....

be yourself...

here's another thought. the most frequent advice given to PAC candidates is, I believe, to "be yourself", followed by "be a team player" and "don't hog the limelight".

i think it has been previously mentioned in this thread that during the interview session, the interview panel may give an early indication of where JPA will place the successful candidates.

now, let's take this excerpt from an interview with Datuk Dr Shafie Salleh, in Mingguan Malaysia (Feb 2005)

SHAFIE: Pelajar-pelajar kita kebanyakannya hanya mengejar `sehelai kertas' (ijazah).

What do you guys think then, will our behaviour during PAC affect our chances to get the post that suits our personality? Or will it depend on how we behave during DPA in INTAN, after 'intervention'? assuming we get through this PAC and the subsequent interviews, of course.

i think that's why they conduct this assessment.. interview is just too short.. even if it takes
more than 1 hour... in three days usually we will show our true "colours".. so to speak

that's why it's very important to "be yourself".. so that they'll be able to assess you better and get the best from you.. that;s what leadership is all about... using right resources at the right place and the right time

The best is still " be yourself " You might be surrounded by the proffesionals, lawyers, doctors etc.Although you are not as proffesionals as they are, there's might be some value in you which suitable to becoming as PTD.Good luck ya!

agree with ur point that research could play a vital role in grabbing the opportunity to be a PTD.

however,i am quite surprise that u know that I am a fan of Man Utd,i'm from MMU but u are wrong that I did my FYP on hotel reservation system, I did a virtual tour of PC that consists of php,sql,lingo,3d max, some complex scripting,it's more towards multimedia. So u can basically say I am a multimedia minded person.

How did u  managed to know my personal information?I'm quite impressed.:tq:

i guess everyone is OK with "being yourself", what i meant to say was how much does our "true colours" influence placement in the service, with regards to the Mingguan Malaysia article. Or is it a matter or further assessment during DPA? Also bear in mind that previous sessions have done personality tests (Myers-Briggs) during their PTD Unggul.

PAC

hi all..
congratulations n good luck for those yang akan pegi PAC, don't stress urself thinking about other candidate...just get prepared, u already have a picture what's PAC is all about kan, apa aktiviti yang akan ditempuhi dah pun diceritakan oleh some forumer...so buatlah persediaan yang sepatutnya...cuma anda perlu faham bahawa pemilihan adalah bergantung pada facilitator yang menilai anda semasa PAC dijalankan, so buatlah yang terbaik....

My experience, pegi PAC without any clue what am i going to face over there...ikut je la jadual yg diberi, participate dalam apa jua perbincangan n aktiviti kumpulan, prepare public speaking a night before presentation, n maybe a big help from my group at that time...thx guys, u all memang best sbb we all bekerjasama dalam semua aktiviti...end up, 8 from 10 of us get through for interview...and 6 get the post...alhamdulillah...

Jadi kenalilah rakan-rakan satu group n sama- sama lah berusaha untuk berjaya...tolong menolong memang banyak kebaikannya...

Just my 2 cent

Dari blog seorang ptd... a view from the facilitator eyes...for full entry... go here... http://look_again.blogspot.com/2 ... e-known-during.html

Things I wish some good candidates have known during the PAC, such as:

* Volunteering is good. Dominating is not. If one of your peers volunteer to take over any task after you have done so
