Cannes 2009: It is till date Aishwarya's best ever red carpet appearance at the Cannes. On Day 1 she wowed all with her floor-sweeping Roberto Cavalli strapless white gown.
Day 2: Ash was stunning in a grey Elie Saab one-shoulder gown and slicked-back hair.
Cannes 2010: By this time Elie Saab had become Aishwarya's favourite designer and she was again seen in a violet mermaid gown with a train and sheer shoulders.
It was the year when she was promoting Raavan at Cannes and for the photo call in the afternoon it was an off shoulder black dress and open hair.
Then came another hit from Aishwarya - a black strapless Armani Prive gown. She added a dash of colour with her red lipstick. -
Cannes 2011: Aishwarya Rai was a stunner in another Elie Saab one shoulder embroidered gown.
Next she cut a fine figure in a geometric Armani Prive dress with smokey eyes.
In the afternoon that very day, when her ill fated Heroine was announced, she wore a brown.
Ash dropped out of Heroine that year due to her pregnancy.
Cannes 2012: Last year, new mom Aishwarya Rai got brawny points for her choice of grey Elie Saab gown which was clinging to her plus size curves. 2012 was the year, when Ash was criticised for her drastic weight gain post pregnancy.
Upon her arrival Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was first seen in an Angelo Katsapis maxidress. Then in a cream chikankari Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla sari for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala with an embroidered jacket, which was a complete fashion disaster.
After the amFAR gala Ash was then spotted in a Roberto Cavalli kaftan.
It is now endgame for Sanjay Dutt in the 20-year-long saga that saw him charged with illegal arms possession in the 1993 Bombay blasts. The actor surrendered in a TADA court in Mumbai and spent the night in the Arthur Road jail. He will be moved to Pune's Yerawada Jail to begin the 42 months left of the five-year jail term he was handed by the Supreme Court.
On March 21, the Supreme Court delivered a final verdict on the Bollywood actor's part in the bomb blasts that ripped Mumbai apart in 1993. Dutt, who was sentenced to six years in jail in 2007, had his sentence reduced by a year. He has already served 18 months of his sentence.
The son of actors Sunil and Nargis Dutt, Sanjay Dutt was born on July 29, 1959 and went to The Lawrence School, Sanawar. He burst upon Bollywood in 1981's Rocky, and was hailed as the next big thing. Three days before the film's premiere, his mother Nargis died after a long and painful battle with cancer. Dutt then starred in a string of hit films including Vidhaata, Main Awara Hoon, Naam and Kabzaa. His performances in Sadak and Saajan were singled out for praise.
In June 1993, Sanjay Dutt's role as the anti-hero in the superhit Khalnayak earned him praise from the critics and he received a Filmfare Best Actor nomination. But, just three weeks before the film released, he was arrested and charged with involvement in the bombings. (Read: Sanjay Dutt to play Pritam Singh again)
Sanjay Dutt was in and out of jail over the next four years and was finally released on bail in 1997. All the while, films he'd already shot for continued to release. These included Aatish and Vijeta. Dutt made a comeback in Ram Gopal Varma's Daud, opposite Urmila Matondkar, now considered a cult classic. In 1999, the award-winning Vaastav fetched Sanjay Dutt a Filmfare Best Actor award for playing a gangster, a role that he would be frequently cast in, most recently as crime lord Kancha Cheena in 2012's remake of Agneepath.
Despite settling into the role of Bollywood's favourite tough guy, Sanjay Dutt also displayed a flair for comedy in the blockbuster Munnabhai... films, and for drama in Parineeta and Shabd. He is often part of ensemble casts, in movies like Shootout At Lokhandwala, Dus and Department. This year, Sanjay Dutt has already shot for Peekay and the remake of Zanjeer. He is meant to star in Munnabhai Chale Delhi, the third in the hit series co-starring Arshad Warsi. (Read: For Vidya Balan, Sanjay Dutt will remain first superstar)
Sanjay Dutt also has a failed tryst with politics. In 2009, he announced that he would fight the Lok Sabha elections as a Samajwadi Party candidate. He withdrew his candidacy when the Supreme Court refused to suspend his conviction in the Mumbai blasts case and was appointed General Secretary of the party instead. The next year, he quit the party - and politics, in general.
Sanjay Dutt has been married thrice. In 1987, he married actress Richa Sharma who died nine years later of a brain tumour. Their daughter, Trishala, lives in the United States. In 1998, Dutt married model Rhea Pillai. They divorced in 2005. In 2008, he married Manyata. Twins Iqra and Shahraan were born in 2010. Sanjay Dutt's sisters are Congress MP Priya and Namrata, who is married to former actor Kumar Gaurav.
Pinkvilla Exclusive: Sashey Agah on her debut film Aurangzeb and more
She’s fair, beautiful eyes and long lovely tresses... that’s Sashey Agah, the confident young daughter of yesteryear singer-actor Salma Agah. A new entrant in the Hindi film industry Sashey is all chirpy and gaga about her foray into the big league, with film Aurangzeb which also stars Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rishi Kapoor and Amrita Singh. We caught up with the young starlet for a tete a tete:
On becoming a heroine
I always wanted to be one. It was my dream. I have been giving auditions for last couple of years and now when my film is releasing I am very excited, more so because it is a banner like Yash Raj. What better launch than this!
Not a typical Yash Raj heroine
My role in the film is not at all the typical Yash Raj heroine. Arjun has a double role in the film and when the swapping happens in the film, my conflicting character emerges. The complexity of the character is unique. People will realise that I have not opted for a typical launch and I hope after this, the industry will offer me a variety of roles.
A singer actor
I am extremely excited with the opportunity I got. When I went for the audition, the casting director of YRF asked me to do whatever I want. So I just broke into a song and dance. She liked my singing and asked me to sing a song in the film. I remember during the audition I sang Zaara Zaara... I am happy that my first song is in my debut film and people have liked it so much. My voice texture is very different from my mom. She has a nasal tone and I have a husky one.
Mom Salma’s influence
I have been brought up in a culturally rich atmosphere. I was born in London and then came to Mumbai and studied till standard six here. After that I went to USA for further studies and then lived in Dubai. I have heard my mom sing and do her riyaaz at home. And believe me I was never pressurised to pursue acting or singing. For me this transformation happened very naturally. In my school and college days I was an average student because I was always inclined towards cultural activities.
Gossip and controversies...
They are a part of the industry. I am a star in my film, but off the screen I am a very ordinary girl. I believe in every facet of life you encounter rumours and gossip. Even in our housing complexes there are gossips about who came, who went and so on. In the industry one learns to overcome it or ignore it.
Bold scenes in the film
Yes it was required in the film. And with Arjun I share a good rapport since I have known him even before we did the film. We have a common group of friends. And in the film I have used a body suit in the intimate scenes and we used to have a good laugh about this.

The film is about three characters - an experimental photographer, an ailing intellectual monk and a young stock broker, and is the first movie to be produced under Kiran Rao's banner. UTV Motion Pictures will be partnering with Kiran Rao to release the film. The film hits the screens on July 19.
This highly acclaimed movie has been to several film festivals already in 2012 and is now getting a wider release thanks to UTV and Kiran Rao.
