Real Madrid Confirm Higua韓 Is Out For Seven To Ten Days
Real Madrid will start 2009 without one of their best players in the latter stages of 2008 after it was confirmed Gonzalo Higua韓 will be out for seven to ten days.
The Argentine forward is the top scorer for los Blancos this season, but he will miss the game against Villarreal this weekend with tonsillitis.
The Madrid medical team have reported that during his time he will undergo 'complete rest', so could possibly miss their next game against Real Mallorca too.
In addition to the report they have said that at the end of the season he will need to have his tonsils removed.
In his place is likely to come new signing Klaas-Jan Huntelaar though, and it will be an ideal opportunity for the Dutchman to show what he can offer.
Huntelaar is one of two signings made by Real Madrid this winter, along with Lassana Diarra, and it will be interesting to see how the two fit into the side.
The defending La Liga champions currently sit fifth in the table and their match against Villarreal is key, bearing in mind they sit a place below, and the two teams above them, Atl閠ico Madrid and Valencia, also meet this weekend. |
