Takuya Kimura takes pay cut to fund 'Space Battleship Yamato' revisions

TOKYO: Japanese superstar Takuya Kimura has volunteered to take a pay cut to revise the upcoming film "Space Battleship Yamato" in which he stars.
According to Japanese media reports, Kimura said he was moved to tears after watching James Cameron's "Avatar" and immediately urged "Space Battleship Yamato" director Takashi Yamazaki to watch the film as well.
Kimura also asked Yamazaki if they could "revise the CG [computer graphics] scenes in 'Space Battleship Yamato' using 'Avatar' as a reference".
He added that he was deeply impressed by the high quality 3D scenes in "Avatar" and went on to point out that while "Space Battleship Yamato" was a Japanese film and "Avatar" was an expensive Hollywood production, "the difference [in quality] between them was just too great".
The actor's suggestion has unsettled the production crew working on "Space Battleship Yamato". Some said he had gone overboard in his quest for perfection.
"Space Battleship Yamato", based on a popular animated series of the same name, was already in post-production when Kimura made his suggestion. If the CG scenes are reworked, costs will escalate and Kimura will have to re-shoot these scenes again.
This will force the film, slated for a December release, to go over budget and become delayed.
Kimura said he will adjust his schedule to re-shoot his scenes and will forego a portion of his fees to defray the costs of these revisions.

Arashi has 7 members?! In the new serial TV CM of KDDI, Arashi has been selected as the spokesman and their "Arashi x Keitai (cell phone) COLOR" has been on air from February 9th!
In the CM, there are 7 colors of the new serial of cell phone for the spring. And each member of Arashi picked up his own color. In all of a sudden, Ohno duplicated into three persons and took the three left by saying: "leadership, 3 times!" "Then we have 7 members...?" asked Sakurai surprised.
Arashi is known for their good relations among members, and they also had a smooth shooting of the CM! Other members also ad lib in Ohno's "leadership" line and made everyone laugh.
The new CM followed the rule of the previous serials, which had concepts such as "White space", "The art object of alphabet" and "all in white (last time was all in black)". In the simple color, five members of Arashi conveyed CM message by their natural charisma.
In addition, their new CM "Arashi x Keitai (cell phone) CAMERA" will be on air from the end of this month.
One member takes a picture of Ninomiya who has some female style, and Ohno says: "Nino, Kawaii (cute)..." after he sees Nino's photo. After that, Matsumoto becomes the model, and Ohno says again: "Jun is kawaii (cute)." and other member are attracted by his word...it sounds quite interesting (laugh)

But what about the other members?
"The other member who wants a break up, Go Morita, says he wants to study stage acting, but seems to just want a break from the tabloids focusing on his romance with Aya Ueto, and his past dalliances with other women. The only big news featuring Ken Miyake was his rumored relationship with Namie Amuro. Hiroshi Nagano and Masayuki Sakamoto don't stand out much in the group, and it seems they would focus on stage acting. It seems Sakamoto will be getting married to former Momusu leader Yuko Nakazawa soon though, so maybe there will be somewhat of a buzz there." -- Same source
