BAROS BROADSIDE FOR HOULLIER
Milan Baros has rounded on former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier and accused the Frenchman of destroying his confidence.
The Czech Republic striker claimed he was thinking of quitting Anfield this summer but has had a change of heart now Rafael Benitez is in charge.
Baros, leading scorer in Euro 2004 with five goals for the semi-finalists, told www.liverpool fc.tv: "Houllier knocked the confidence out of me.
"I wasn't being picked and I thought it would be best to leave Liverpool in the summer. I was very hurt at not being in the side. I was fit and felt it was an injustice.
"But a new coach has come in now and the situation has changed. Every player will start next season from the same point under Rafael Benitez.
"We will all have something to prove. With the old manager gone, I now want to stay and be a part of it."
Baros has rediscovered his appetite in Portugal after being on the fringes at club level.
"I had lost my motivation at Liverpool and it was only when I met up with my national team-mates that I lost weight, gained some mental belief and got my motivation back," he said. "I have heard people say I play differently for my country but that's simply not true. I play exactly the same at Liverpool.
"All I can hope is that I transfer this form to next season and I'm sure I can."

HARGREAVES AVAILABLE AT RIGHT PRICE
Bayern Munich have told Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez that he can sign Owen Hargreaves if he meets their valuation of the England midfielder.
Hargreaves has admitted that he is willing to consider a move to the Premiership with one of the top sides in a bid to further his international career.
The 23-year-old burst onto the scene three years ago when he was part of the Bayern side who saw off Valencia on penalties to lift the 2001 Champions League.
However, he has been unable to hold down a regular place at the Olympic Stadium and amid reported interest from the Reds, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told Liverpool they may be willing to do business should the Merseysiders meet their valuation.
"If Liverpool make an offer that is acceptable, then we shall deal with it,'' he said.
The Reds have been linked with Hargreaves - who would command a fee of up to |

PARRY - STEVIE MADE A DECISION FROM THE HEART
Liverpool chief execitive Rick Parry said he was absolutely delighted to announce that captain Steven Gerrard is staying at Liverpool and stressed it was a decision made from the heart.
Gerrard openly admitted that he had been disappointed at the way things had gone at Liverpool over the past two years but said after talking to family, friends and new boss Rafael Benitez he made the decision to stay at Anfield.
Parry said: "We knew of Stevie's concerns and he is fiercely ambitious but this is a decision from the heart. Our manager Rafa Benitez spoke with Stevie when he was away with England and talked to him about his plans which Stevie was excited about.
"We are as ambitious as Stevie is and it is a great day for Liverpool Football Club."
Parry also said the next major task is to keep Michael Owen at Anfield.
Parry said: "Michael is a very important to our future and is hugely important to us. That is tomorrow's challenge but we remain confident Michael will stay with us."
