Starting on the 28th of this month, popular group Arashi will take over Tokyo Metro・Omodesando Station. Posters have been placed inside the station to promote their spring drama special, Saigo no Yakusoku (The Last Promise) airing on Fuji TV January 9th, 2010 at 9:00 pm. Posters are 2.5 meters long by 2.5 meters wide and are wrapped around pillars inside the station.
The suspense drama will follow the lives of five people who happen to be trapped inside a building during a takeover situation.
It will depict human relationships between the occupants of the building. The promotional posters feature all five members who have been 'caught'. Furthermore, it is as if they have been tied up tightly against the pillars inside the station, making it a shocking promotional tactic.
Matsumoto Jun (26) said, "In the drama, all five of us are in a hijacking situation, so we decided to 'hijack' Omotesando Station for the New Year. The images of us being trapped in the drama really gives off a grown up feeling. Please don't try to untie us! (laughs)"

All five SMAP members attend PR event for new commercial

All five members of popular boy band SMAP lined up on a stage at Akasaka Sacas this week to promote Softbank Mobile’s new commercial. It was the first time in more than 10 years for all five members to attend a PR event.
The last time all of the group assembled for a PR event was in May 1999, when they lined up to announce an upcoming tour. This time they announced they had finished production of a commercial for Softbank Mobile, and that it was filmed in New York.
When Masahiro Nakai, 37, commented on the comforts of flying first class to and from New York, Shingo Katori, 32, who traveled separately to take part in a musical, appeared surprised and belted out: “I wasn’t in first class!”
The group also declared their “SMAP SHOP 09” open for business. It is the fourth time their limited goods store will open, and this time will be open until Jan 11. Takuya Kimura, 37, said that when he visited the store last year, the staff’s reaction was funny, and Nakai said: “I took my niece and nephew and they bought lots of things, but I was shocked when then the bill came and it was about 100,000 yen.”
The theme of this year’s store is “CHAN TO SHI NAI TO NE,” meaning something to the effect of conducting oneself properly. Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, 35, said he wondered if this year’s theme had anything to do with his unacceptable display of public indecency in Hinokicho Park in Tokyo back in April. He apologized four times during the event, drawing laughter from the crowd.
The new commercial started airing on Saturday.

At the '60th NHK Kouhaku Utagassen' held on the 31st at the NHK Hallin Shibuya, Nagase Tomoya (31) of TOKIO, admitted for the first time tobeing in a relationship with actress Aibu Saki (24).
After performing'Taiyou to Sabaku no Bara', when asked by reporters "How is yourrelationship with Aibu-san?", Nagase replied smiling shyly, "Yes, it'sgoing smoothly". Also when further asked "So will there be any goodnews?", he said "As for that, no," with a wry smile.
The pair met while filming the 2007 TBS drama 'Utahime'. Although their relationship was first reported about in a tabloid (complete with paparazzi photos of the two on a date together)in January 2008, they have both responded with "no comments" till now.Also, as if inspired by Nagase, fellow TOKIO member Matsuoka Masahiro(32) also announced "I'll try my best in my private life!" However healso went on to say with a grin "Good news? Not that I know of!"

Johnny's Monopolized the Rank of 'the Artist You Want to Kiss'!
A site revealed the ranking of 'The Artist You Want to Kiss' couple days ago.
Though there were some changes in the process, Johnny's members finally topped the ranking! Is there anyone you like in the list? Let's take a look!

KinKi Kids return to Tokyo Dome for year-end show
TOKYO - Koichi Domoto, 30, and Tsuyoshi Domoto, 30, who form pop duo KinKi Kids, are back in Tokyo for their traditional end of year concerts, putting on three shows, the last being on Friday night.
The pair, who are unrelated but who both come from the Kinki region, have performed at Tokyo Dome over the New Year every year since 1998, but last year, they held shows at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome. The duo are back in Tokyo this time, much to the delight of the 50,000 strong crowds, and are singing songs from their new album, called “J album.”
Along with their band and back-up dancers, they are electrifying the Dome with three stages that move simultaneously up to a distance of 100 meters.
Including Friday night’s show, KinKi Kids will set a new record for artists to perform solo at Tokyo Dome, coming to 37 concerts. They will also perform at Kyocera Dome on Jan 9, 10 and 11.

Arashi 5 Members Rode the Truck!
Five members of Arashi appeared on the New Year special TV program NEP LEAGUE (ネプリーグ). It's a variety show integrating talk show, game show and quiz show. In the game show part, several teams will compete together. There were NEP LEAGUE team, Arashi team, and Quiz Masters team with artists and actresses this time.
For the winning team, they would awarded by a prize, riding the truck and answering an alternative choice question. It was the second time for Kazunari Ninomiya attended this game, he seemed confident: "We have already ridden the truck last time!" On the other hand, it was the first time for Satoshi Ohno, Masaki Aiba and Jun Matsumoto on this show, so they were a little bit nervous. "Even I have watch the TV I don't know this game" commented by Ohno, and it made other members more upset. Sho Sakurai, who was on the show second time, was as enthusiastic as Nino (Ninomiya) by saying "All five members will ride the truck with our 'bond'."
In the most critical moment of the game, Ohno sometimes ran out of the time and sometimes showed Arashi style by answering the question by the last minute. In the end, though Arashi won a narrow victory in the game, they missed the question "Which one is larger? 23 wards of Tokyo or out side 23 wards of Tokyo?" in deep regret! "When we don't know the answer, let's entrust the feeling of our leader!" members commented, and Ohno replied with a smile: "I was pushed." Maybe this is a kind of Arashi's style as well!
The drama with all five Arashi members "Saigo no Yakusoku/最後の約束" will be aired soon on Jan.9th. Don't miss it out!
