hello,

my sis pernah ajar murid2 SRJK(T), mereka mmg tak pandai bi langsung. Bm pun hancuss. so my sis wonder why sbb ramai indians yang pandai speak in english.

english mmg sgt ptg especially yang nak enter private sector. nak jadi kerani cabuk pun interview in english. my experience kalau bos tu chinese atau indian mmg mrk akan cakap english dengan kita. Dan, bos i yang malay pun cakap english gak.....

i masa sekolah dulu english mmg teruk.....sikit lagi nak fail jer..tapi masa masuk U i buat betul2.....nyanyi(walau suara teruk)lagu bi, baca novel/paper bi, dengar radio bi dan dengar betul2 dgn niat nak pandai bi sbb teringat nak masuk private sector lepas grad. Now, i boleh cakap bi. Kan masa interview tu mrk nak tgk kita boleh cakap bi bukan pandai bi......

rgds,
tebbi

i rasa bahasa melayu lagi susah drpd bahasa inggeris sbb tatabahasa bm selalu berubah.dalam masa 2 tahun banyak perubahan. kalu bi tu dari dulu sampai sekarang grammar tetap jugak mcm tu.

bagus adik FAC. at least you tau dimana u punya silap.

oklah nie experince chip plak, kalo nak ikut sepatutnya chip sekolah bandar takda masalah tapi still ada lg, ms skool dulu wlpun sek premier tapi pguasaan english tetap tak bagus, kire kalo nak banding ngan kwn2 chip, chip teruk laa gak, penah kene maki dalam kelas, kene lepuk and sound ngan cikgu english...terkenang2 sampai skrg

tapi akhirnya chip masuk diploma baru kesedaran timbul, tiap2 ari baca news english and of course blajar dalam english. akhirnya chip dpt wat law...mmg mau tak mau kene master english betul2...lama2 dah terbiasa ckp in english wlpun adalah broken, mistake gak sampai skrg

bagi chip pokok pangkal cuma kesedaran dlm diri utk berjaya, pendek kata motivation...and of course jgn putus asa nak blajar english nie, chip tak malu nak cakap kat sini yg chip masih lagi blajar dan baru2 nie penah kene sound ngan lect sbb english still tak ok...memula sedih laa gak tapi lama2 chip cuba terima dan jadikan sbg satu cbrn...

ape pun syukur sbb belum grad lagi ship dah ditawarkan biasiswa sambung blajar di oversea...cukup terkejut...tak sangka pun ada, budak yg lemah english penah kene tempelak tak skolah and kene debik kat blakang bdn pun boleh berjaya..bukan nak bangga tapi kene ingat yg belajar atau study english nie kene berterusan dan yg penting confident. drpd degree yg chip amik syukur chip dapatsurvive wlpun adakala down gak sbb masalah penguasaan bahasa nie.

chip skrg tgh prepare nak wat test IELTS sbg persediaan nak p oversea. and i'm still not satisfy with my English and continue to improve it as much as i can, pray for my success:pray:

Selamat berjaya utk semua

bye,
tebbi

yups u r rite m8..like the proverb says 'Every cloud has a silver lining'..hurm in my opinion tak semestinya masuk klas inggeris tu lepas habis tros gempak..like u said what the most important thing is one must have the iniative to improve diri sendiri..kalau setakat pegi klas pastu tak praktikkan ckp english tak guna jugak an..

agree dengan this.... saya dulu pun ambik english course, banyak habiskan duit.... tapi lepas tuh saya perasan, attend course saja tak cukup... kena praktikkan apa yg kita belajar.. jangan malu cakap in English, even masa mula-mula kita mungkin buat mistake.. learn from that mistake..

Wow, I admire your honesty, but deeply disappointed in your attitude towards teaching.

Given the state of English proficiency among our students today, there's clearly something wrong in the syllabus. If anyone, it's the English teachers who should point this out to the ministry (I bet you're not the only one who noticed this inadequacy in our education system).

How would you feel if your kids' teachers have the same couldn't-care-less attitude in the classroom?

Action Song latih murid tingkat kemahiran bahasa Inggeris

this is an interview with Dato' Najib Tun Razak - TPM -

What do you think can be done to improve the level of English in the country?

I think we should strengthen our command of both the national language and English. I think all of us have the ability to be proficient in at least two languages.

I believe the system itself should reward creativity. This means less emphasis on the objective side and more on the ability to write essays and on literature.

But we need literature teachers, and the teachers who are products of the Malay medium cannot teach English lit. So, before we can introduce lit we need to train the teachers and we need to wait for the next generation of teachers who have gone through the system and are proficient in English.

I believe that to understand the significance of a language one has to study its literature. I am comfortable in both languages. I don抰 think in English when I speak in Bahasa, neither do I think in Bahasa when I speak in English. I do think we need to develop Malaysians who are proficient in both languages. This will take time. Once you change the policy, you have to go through two or three generations before you see the products of the change.
