Liverpool Keen On Wigan & Crystal Palace Youngsters: Anfield Side Plot Starlet Pair Swoop

Liverpool are reportedly scouting England Under 21 international Wilfied Zaha and Wigan youngster Victor Moses as Anfield’s director of footbal Damien Comolli draws up a list of potential youthful additions. The Merseyside club has been running the rule on the Wigan and Crystal Palace wingers and glowing reports have led boss Kenny Dalglish to prepare offers for the young duo.
Liverpool have adopted a youthful transfer policy over the past 18 months with the likes of Jordan Henderson, Sebastian Coates and Andy Carroll being brought to the club in 2011 and Messrs Dalglish and Comolli are said to be looking to add more natural width to the club’s attack whilst simultaneously planning for the long term, and the pair of wide-men apparently fit the bill.
Wigan’s Victor Moses is in his third season at the DW Stadium and after a fairly non-descript start to his career at the club the 21 year old has begun to make an impact in the top tier. Having represented England at Under 21 level the former Crystal Palace man opted to play for Nigeria at full international level and won his first senior cap in February.
Moses can play in an orthodox striking role but is far more effective when given the space to beat his man whilst out on the flanks.
Wilfried Zaha has garnered a great deal of praise this term and has come to the fore under the guidance of Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman, helping the South London side to the Carling Cup Semi-Finals, and a fair few Premier League scouts have been monitoring the 19 year old’s progress.
Having spent in excess of ￡110m on new signings in the past two transfer windows Liverpool may well elect to be more frugal with transfer funds this summer and with that in mind could feel that making moves for this inexpensive duo could be wise.

After failing to make an impression at Anfield, Alberto Aquilani looks like one of the faces that will be heading for the club’s exit in 2012, and could leave in a part exchange deal.

The 27 year-old moved to Merseyside in 2009 but has played barely 12 months of football in England, spending last season on loan at Juventus.

The new deal is for a Napoli talisman but not Edinson Cavani as many have been speculating over the past two months.

Instead, the offer would include Liverpool paying around ￡20m cash with Aquilani exchanging places with Napoli playmaker, Marek Hamsik.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea but thus far he has failed to complete a move away from Naples as many had prophesised.

Aquilani came to England for a fee of around ￡17m and his value may have dropped but sides are reportedly still willing to pay around ￡12m for the midfielder.
