Visit Seoul 2010" Korean Stars and Japanese tourists explore Seoul in MBC's Star Guide Doshiraku
2010/01/05 19:41
To welcome "Visit Seoul 2010," the city is taking on the challenge to attract more tourists. To bring awareness to foreigners of Seoul's famous areas as well as to get them to dine on more of the delicious cuisine. In December, Japanese tourists will come for one day and will be led around by star tour guides that will show them some of the interesting sites of Seoul. The program is an innovative project.
Welcoming the the Japanese tourists are Lee Hyukjae who is the main MC and one of Korea's top comedians, Moon Hee Jun (formerly of H·O·T), Kim Sook, and Yang Yoseob and Yong Junhyung from the idol group, BEAST.
How is this honorable? Well, the seven Japanese tourists that participated in the program did so through the cooperation of "Asiaentamesite ejyan" with the show. [Asiaentamesite ejyan did the casting for the show and this article is from their website.]
The Korean celebrities and Japanese tourists overcame language barriers in addition to the gaps in their ages to create a single team that took on the challenge of filming the program from very early in the morning to deep into the night. This program will air on MBC on January 8th at 5:35 PM as "Star Guide Doshiraku ("The Star's Guide to getting around the city easier" or "Easy City Star Guide").

Universal Music Group has signed a strategic partnership with Korean artist and music production company Play Cube Entertainment, in an effort to boost the Korean pop (K-Pop) business domestically and internationally.
The strategic alliance covers licensing and distribution rights to strengthen Universal Music Korea's presence in the domestic market, while increasing the exposure of Play Cube's K-Pop artists in regional and international markets.
The agreement commences with the release of an enhanced version of the EP, "For Muzik," by Play Cube's all-girl group 4Minute. The enhanced EP, in physical and digital formats, will be released this week in eight countries across South-East Asia, with Japan to follow soon.
Seoul-based Play Cube Entertainment was established by Monica Shin in 2006. Shin is co-CEO of the company with Simon Hong, who developed Rain and Wonder Girls into international stars during his tenure as CEO of JYP Entertainment. The Play Cube artist roster includes 4Minute, all-boy group Beast, plus soloists Eddie, Mario and Youngji.
"It's an exciting time for Play Cube's domestic K-Pop artists who, with Universal Music's strong marketing teams and wide-reaching distribution networks, will be exposed to new markets around Asia and the world," said Max Hole, president, Asia-Pacific Region, Universal Music Group International, in a statement. "We look forward to working with Monica and Simon, and making many hits together."
Monica Shin added: "This strategic alliance signifies the beginning of a totally new era in the K-Pop business. With our new partner Universal Music by our side, we can't wait to take our artists beyond the domestic market in Korea."
"As shown by the global phenomenon of Korean super-star Rain, K-Pop is a genre loved by fans all over the world," commented Beom-Joon Yang, managing director of Universal Music Korea. "There are so many more Korean stars still yet to break internationally."
K-pop girl group 4Minute and boy band Beast will soon be advancing into overseas markets, thanks to an agreement signed by their agency Play Cube Entertainment with Universal Music Group (UMG).
UMG, the world's leading music company, signed a strategic partnership with Play Cube, Monday. This agreement will allow Universal Music to distribute and market albums by Play Cube's artists such as 4Minute and Beast abroad.
``Universal Music's powerful marketing strategies and network will help introduce Play Cube artists to the world market. We are very pleased to introduce wonderful and talented artists from Play Cube,'' Max Hole, president of UMG International Asia-Pacific region, said in a statement.
Simon Hong, CEO of Play Cube, said the partnership with UMG will greatly help their artists successfully become more known on the world stage.
Yang Beom-joon, Universal Music Korea managing director, expressed confidence that K-pop music will get a lot of love and attention from fans around the world.
The first step of the cooperation will involve the release of girl group 4Minute's debut album ``For Muzik'' in eight Asian countries, including Japan. 4Minute hit it big in 2009 with the catchy dance songs ``Hot Issue'' and ``What a Girl Wants.''
Aside from 4Minute, other Play Cube artists are boy band Beast, which released the single ``Crazy'' last year; and solo artists Mario; Eddie; AJ; and Youngji.
UMG develops, markets and distributes recorded music through a network of subsidiaries, joint ventures and licensees in 77 countries. Some of its labels include Interscope Geffen A&M, The Island Def Jam Music Group, Universal Motown Republic Group and Decca Label Group. Artists signed with these labels include Rihanna, Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Amy Winehouse, Jack Johnson, Lil Wayne, Akon and Andrea Bocelli.
BEAST’s leader Yoon Doojoon has been chosen to model for premium jeans brand Buckaroo.
BEAST experienced explosive popularity after debuting with their single “Bad Girl.” They are now promoting “Mystery,”which is receiving just as much, if not more love from fans. It hasbeen less than 100 days since their debut, but Doojoon has already beenselected to model for Buckaroo alongside Shin Se Kyung.
Doojoon was a soccer player and athlete, therefore he has anextremely tough and fit body. He is also referred to as “Stone Thighs”by the fans, which is why he is a top candidate to model jeans.
BEAST & 4minute release pre-debut video from the slopes!
A new video released by Cube Entertainment featuring BEAST and 4minute from approximately 2 years ago, prior to their debut has been receiving lots of attention from fans.
The video is a series from Cube Entertainment called MSC (Manager Self Camera), and as the title implies, this series is filmed by their manager.
Anyway, this clip features both the BEAST and 4minute members on the ski slopes, showcasing a different side of them, from their usual charismatic presence on stage.
