Desktop Llano uses Socket FM1

Upcoming Lynx based Llano APU will use a new socket FM1. APU is the chip that has graphics and CPU and yet according to AMD deserves a new fancy nick abbrevaton. It's not, I repeat - it's not a character from Simpsons. We don’t know how different this new socket for desktop CPUs is, but we know it replaces the AM3 socket and Dorado platform in mainstream market.
The new socket interconnects with Hudson series of chipsets and some of them will come with USB 3.0, although most of them are USB 2.0 and have support for SATA 6Gbps.
Llano is, as we said before, a dual or quad core with support for DDR3 1600, DirectX 11 GPU most likely from Radeon HD 5000 generation. The graphics juice should be close to HD 5350 series or anything in the range of slower discrete graphic solutions, but with a good chance of being faster than previous, AMD 880G integrated chipset graphics.
Llano is the second to come, and it serves the Lynx platform while the one that fits in Brazos platform is scheduled to launched in Q4 2010.

Bulldozer Zambezi edition to use AM3 r2

Four to eight cores from AMD in 2011
This is something we've already written about, as the first time we reported about this new socket was back in November 2009 here. This time around, however, we've got a confirmation that this is the way to go.
The new CPU uses a modified socket AM3 r2, and its still not clear if this socket is completely compatible with the existing AM3 socket. Something must have changed as AMD 990 chipset is also in the works, despite some early reports that AMD 890GX /GX chipsets will support the new Bulldozer core.
Let me remind you that Bulldozer is a highly anticipated 32nm quad or eight core (six should also be possible), 8MB L3 cache, DDR3 1866 support and the first CPU to come with this core is codenamed Zambezi.
The Zambezi CPU fits in Scorpius platform and it is all planned for some point in 2011, but we don't know which one as of yet. |

Nak tanya skit, aku ni pakai rig dgn cpu phenom 2 x4 955 black, bleh ke unlock cores dr 4 pg 6 ke, bleh ke?
mobo aku pakai m4a88td-v, ada cores unlocker tu, tp setau aku nk unlock double cores ke quad cores bleh la, dr 4 ke 6 rasanya tak bleh, tapi taktau la kalau ada 'hero' yg bleh buat cmni kt sini...

aku ni sebenarnya a 'convert' from intel to AMD...
sebelum pakai rig baru nih, aku pakai pentium 4, so x berapa nk mahir isu semasa bab2 pengkomputeran...

x brani nak oc la bro... lgpun x perlu sebab rig ni utk browse internet dgn main game je... bab power consumption tu, sejak beli rig nih bil letrik naik sampai 200%... dlm sehari adalah on dlm 6-7 jam je kot... kenape ek?
ataupun sebab temp tinggi sangat coz cpu fan dh adjust to auto, klu biar pusing 100% memang bising gila... lgpun cpu and gpu fan standard je... bleh jadi ke punca bil letrik menggila?
coz sesuatu yg generate more heat akan consume more power... tp xtau la teori ni applicable kat computer... |
