Novinta’s Newest Movie – Petak Umpet Minako
Produced by RakBuku Production (Their first ever featured movie) with Billy Christian (Hi5teria, Tuyul) on helm, Petak Umpet Minako or Minako’s Hide and Seek (which was originally a novel written by @manhalfgod), told a story about a bunch of young adults who were in for a high school reunion.
In that said reunion, one of them suggested to play Hitori Kakurenbo (Hide and Seek Alone), a game that is not only threatened their life, but also tested their friendships.
Based on a Japanese urban legend, the Hitori Kakurenbo’s ritual is used by the Japanese to communicate with apparitions by using a doll as a medium. The doll then started to move which indicates that the game is started.
Billy Christian said that this movie is unique in its own rights where it does have some moral messages in it unlike any other local made horror movies. The characters in this movie represents the idea and future dreams of young people.
“Business wise, Minako’s Hide and Seek also possessed a great intellectual property potential. So we do have plans to be the first one (locally) to implement the 360 degrees digital creative content entertainment by also releasing an e-book, digital download music, and also mobile game based on the movie,” said Wida Handoyo, the executive producer.
The shooting will took place on the third week of January in Jakarta.
Novinta herself will play a character named Tiara and this will be her second movie (Her first movie will be released this February). No further information about the character she will play for now.
