Hehe. Sometimes I'm afraid to take the blanket too. What if they check my bag?
The nicest blanket I've in my possession was the one from EVA Air .

No worries n no need to scared...they dun check their stuff...coz after all the passenger leaving from the aircraft...Last person is their staff need to leave from the aircraft...after that...the aircraft move to the hangar to get clean up and reload sumthing such as food n beverage...flush the toilet reload the water and etc...that is a different team doing their job...before this i got free earphone from virgin blue...that's a complementary from them...at least still worth it even though the flight is cheap like airasia(not get anything :p) Next strategy, Qatar Air :p |

But the air hostesses are getting smart these days. Before landing, they collect the blankets
I wonder do foreigners take blankets too or is it an Asian habit only? |

Not quit right. The plane will be moved to hangar whenever required major check. Servicing, replenishment and transit or daily check will be done at the place where the plane is parked. Sometime, coming to Australia ports, the airline staffs will lookout for stolen items from the plane and will take it back to the plane. |

Understood what u mean...another blanket from qantas...request to stewardess...she just smile and say "u may take it"...
as far as i know they only concern missing of emergency stuff...maybe the low cost carrier is really concern bout the particular thing... |

Any tips on how to be upgraded to business from economy class?
Once I was upgraded to business class on Eva Air. I don't know how that happened. What I remember was we (four of us) checked in late. |

I am sorry, just a driver. Upgrading normally done by the ground staff or the airline airport manager. If the economy class is full, bzness available, the frequent traveler for that airline in the economy will have the priority to be upgraded, if none, the late comers with confirmed booking on that flight will have the luck. Some airlines will offer the economy pax for the upgrade option with few hundred dollars. But dont try to damage your seat and hope to be upgraded if the economy really full !! I will upgrade the passenger next to you and you will take his/her seat instead.. |

Maybe that's why I got upgraded to business class. The four of us check-in late or maybe my sis and I were extra pretty that day . |

If I remember correctly (I was groggy at that time because earlier I took 2 pills for motion sickness), we were seated separately at the economy class because we checked-in late. Suddenly, my brother asked the 3 of us to go to the front. I don't know what was happening at that time (still groggy) so I just followed.
The 4 of us marveled at the spacious and comfy seats. At that time we didn't know it was business class. Other passengers in there looked just like us (dressed casually, no suits whatever). Then I saw those disposable slippers and classy menu on the pocket seat in front of me. Still I didn't think too much of it.
Then when it was meal time, the flight stewardess used a really classy trolley with white tablecloth. When they gave us metal spoons and forks we were confused. We thought metal utilities were banned from flights ever since the 911 incident. Still we didn't bother and ate our meals happily, on glass plates no less.
After getting our stomachs full, my brother asked 'Do you think this is the business class?". The 3 of us said "We think so. It looked different." We were so naive back then and we weren't even teenagers .
So I slept after the meal (the pills taking effect). A few minutes later, my hubby nudged me to wake up. I asked him not to bother me. He said "We are going to land soon. You have been sleeping for over 2 hours already." GAHHH, to me it felt like 15 mins only. Must be the comfy seat. Felt like a bed but better.
Too bad I didn't take any pictures. I don't think I'll ever experience this again unless I kena big 4D. |
