Premiership - Newcastle "win" Rozehnal race
Eurosport - Fri, 22 Jun 23:15:00 2007
Premiership - Newcastle have won the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender David Rozehnal, according to the centre-half's agent.
Pavel Zika was quoted by Czech media: "The definite agreement was reached: David goes to Newcastle."
Rozehnal, 26, was said to be torn 50-50 between a move to the North-East and southern Spanish side Sevilla, consecutive winners of the UEFA Cup and set to feature in the Champions League next season.
A regular in the Czech Republic defence, Rozehnal will earn more money at Newcastle under new manager Sam Allardyce, but be denied European football next season at St James' Park.
Former Bolton boss Allardyce is keen to strengthen a traditionally weak Toon defence. He recently released Titus Bramble and Craig Moore as part of his rebuilding plans.

La Liga - Schuster: Becks will be bored in LA
Eurosport - Thu, 21 Jun 16:08:00 2007
La Liga - Getafe coach Bernd Schuster, tipped to take charge of Real Madrid despite Fabio Capello's Liga triumph last weekend, has said that he views David Beckham's move to the United States as a grave error.
Former Madrid favourite Schuster is set to lead his players out at the Santiago Bernabeu for the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla for what could be his last match in charge after four years at the helm in the capital's satellite town.
"I think Beckham will be bored to tears in Los Angeles," Schuster told Cadena Ser. "He could have played for two or three more years in Madrid. It's a shame he has left."
Beckham left to play in the MLS for a lucrative contract at LA Galaxy after Madrid told him his contract would not be renewed.
Questioned by the radio station on whether the 'will-he, won't-he' saga involving his potential future at the Bernabeu has disrupted his preparations for Saturday's match, he replied: "For me it is not a problem.
"In the last days I have had to prepare my players for this tie. I am accustomed to dealing with many things [at once]."
On Madrid's potential transfer targets, Schuster said he was particularly enthralled by the prospect of Milan and Brazil wizard Kaka joining Los Merengues.
"Kaka distributes more of the play and [Manchester United's] Cristiano [Ronaldo] is a specialist on the left wing, who can also play on the right. Cristiano depends on other players like Kaka.
"Kaka is the more important [of the two].
"[Christophe Metzelder] played at a very young age at the World Cup in Japan and Korea, but has later suffered from physical problems. If he came without these problems he could be a great centre half."
Madrid's favourite son Raul would be safe in the club's colours if the German took charge.
"With Raul [all the criticism] is exaggerated. He is from Madrid, it is his club and he wants to retire in Madrid, like [Paolo] Maldini in Milan.
"They have used him in an unfavourable position because Raul is a forward that prowls the area like [Emilio] Butragueno. If you move him elsewhere he fulfils his brief without complaining.
"If he says he does not want to go then it is important to keep him - although it is a complicated subject."

Premiership - Tevez to decide after Copa
West Ham and Argentina striker Carlos Tevez will decide where his future lies after the Copa America, his representative said.
Tevez, 23, reportedly ruled out a move to Internazionale yesterday when he refused to meet their "take it or leave it" deadline, preferring to focus on Argentina's campaign and try to engineer a stay in the Premiership with West Ham or one of the top four.
"Carlos is playing in the Copa America at the moment and that is where his prime focus is," his representative Kia Joorabchian said. "It is a big competition and we intend talking more seriously about his future when that tournament is over.
"At the moment there is no development."
Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are all reportedly interested in the former Boca Juniors and Corinthians star, who inspired West Ham to Premier League survival on the last day of the 2006/7 season.
The Cope America has recently got underway in Ecuador and finishes two weeks into July, so any deal will have to wait until then at the earliest.

Leeds facing extinction
07/07/2007
Reuters
Debt-riddenthird division club Leeds United could go out of existence next weekafter being put up for sale by the club's administrators.
A statement from KPMG on Friday said it had made the decisionbecause of a legal challenge by the Revenue and Customs service over7.7 million pounds owed to the government by the 88-year-old Yorkshireclub.
The tax man is also disputing chairman Ken Bates's proposed plan totake the club out of administration by offering creditors just eightpence in the pound.
KPMG decided to put the club up for sale after a High Court rulingon Friday postponed a hearing in the case until September 3 and set adeadline of 5:00 p.m. next Monday for offers to buy the club, which hasdebts of about 35 million pounds.
In a statement released to media, KPMG said: "We are putting theclub up for sale and offers must be in by 5pm on Monday and we areinterested in talking to other parties.
"This is because of the uncertainty that surrounds the club due to the legal challenge by HM Revenue and Customs."
Leeds are due to start the new season at Tranmere Rovers on August11 -- the first time they have played in the third tier of Englishfootball.
Seven years ago Leeds reached the Champions League semi-finals and were subsequently relegated from the Premier League in 2004.
They have been English champions three times in 1969, 1974 and1992, won the FA Cup in 1972 and three years later were beaten byBayern Munich in the European Cup final.
