Owen makes his return!!!
Owen Hargreaves completed 45 minutes on his return to action for United Reserves against Burnley.
The 28-year-old, out of action since September 2008 aftertendonitis surgery on both knees, put in a sharp shift against theClarets at a rain-sodden Moss Lane.
Having attracted a flurry ofcamera flashes upon taking to the field, Hargreaves was involvedstraight from United's kick-off, and he set the tone for an understatedyet effective display with the first in a string of accurate passes.
Deployedprimarily as a holding midfielder on the right of centre-midfield, Owenfrequently found himself in tight situations, but invariably emergedfrom them successfully - showing particularly impressive close controland quick turns on two occasions.
A string of long passes wererendered obsolete by Burnley's penchant for using their offside trap,but Hargreaves' range of passing with either foot, mobility and staminawere all evident.
He was replaced at half-time by Magnus Eikrem, with United leading 1-0 through Febian Brandy's 22nd-minute header.
