Police have several leads into the killing of Customs deputy director-general Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim who was shot dead in Putrajaya in April.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh said the police were still carrying out a careful investigation and had received useful information on the case.
"The investigation is progressing well but I cannot divulge any details," he told reporters at the Sentul district police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.
He said this when asked to comment on a report in a news portal which quoted the victim's son, Mohd Akhtar Shaharuddin, as claiming that he was disappointed with the lukewarm treatment given by police on the investigation into his father's case, which has yet to see anyone charged.
Shaharuddin was shot dead while on the way to his office in Putrajaya on April 26.
Two men on a motorcycle unleashed three shots at the vehicle with Shaharuddin inside at 8.15am when it stopped at the Lebuh Sentosa-Lebuh Wawasan traffic light junction in the federal administrative capital. - Bernama, August 28, 2013.
