MERGED : All About Kuala Lumpur [warna_warna]

saya tulis ni dari perspektif untuk pelancong asing sebab ada pengalaman dgn diaorang - esp kalau ada 1-2 hari je masa kat KL...
for foreigners (so it's in english) - based on experiences with my foreign colleagues that visit kl a lot;
5 must see places;
1. Twin Tower - locals call them KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) and it's not just the tower, there's a huge shopping complex at the base of it. great food too....
2. China Town - locals call it Petaling Street; go there at night for interesting shopping experiences though be prepared to haggle with the vendors (never pay more than 30% of asking prices). BTW, most if not all the good are imitations.
3. Central Market - an old wet market converted to an interesting cultural hubs - if you have a couple of hours to appreciate Malaysia's artistic offerings, this is one of the best options.
4. Low Yat / Imbi / Sg Wang - for all your electronics cravings; mobile phones, digicam etc.... not to mention the cheap DVD's (but I don't condone buying imatations okay)
5. KL Tower - if you want to see the whole of KL in an hour, this is the place to head to. you'll get to see the whole of KL from the observation deck (weather permitting; though there are photographs of what you should be seeing in case visibility is low). a plus is the revolving restaurant on top - great views and experience but pricey and the food is not as good as the ones below. best to go an hour before sunset and spend a couple of hours there - you get to see KL in daylight and at night + the wonderful sunset scenery...
Must try foods (don't tell me you came this far to eat Mc D & KFC);
1. Roti canai & teh tarik - staple food for most malaysian
2. Durian - king of fruit to the local; ignore the smell and see if you are a culinary adventurer
3. Nasi Lemak - don't be put-off by the chilli paste
4. Fish head curry - eat the eye-balls
5. Sate - skewered meats with heavenly peanut sauce
Finally,
Malaysians are friendly people but always heed your senses (common).
Taxis here should use meters - insist on it.
Enjoy your stay. |

Kepada yg baru di KL, aku tak advise mereka shopping di Petaling Street. boleh pegi kalau nak merasa, tapi kena tahu pantang larangnya. Berikut antara tips2 yg boleh dipraktikkan
1. Jangan cuba bertanya jika anda mmg tidak berniat utk membeli.
Selamat bercuti |

betul tu tapi masalah ni jadi bualan orang luar yang buatkan imej malaysia sikit sebanyak terjejas. ramai kawan kerja saya yang ke sini yang cakap camtu. masa saya kat beijing, ada sekali tu suruh teksi singgah kat hotel dan tunggu saya naik ambik barang; bila sampai saja nak bagi lebih sikit. sampai ke sudah driver tu tak mau ambil. kata kawan chinese saya, diaorang takut kan enforcement... takut jadi kes tak ikut meter... |

kalau ke KLCC, jgn lupa singgah di Aquaria .... fully recommended, among the best in South East Asia ... tak keterlaluan jika disamakan dgn Under Waterworld , Pulau Sentosa , S'pore.
