Mahasiswa UiTM, UIAM terbaik kuasai bahasa Inggeris

UiTM honorary degrees for Chief Justice and JCorp Chief Executive
SHAH ALAM, May 24 (Bernama) -- Chief Justice Tun Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim and Johor Corporation (JCorp) chief executive Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim were conferred honorary doctorates in law and entrepreneurship respectively by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, who is chancellor of UiTM, presented the degrees at its 66th convocation here today. Also present was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah.
Ahmad Fairuz who was born in Alor Star in 1941, studied at the University of Singapore before becoming a magistrate in Penang in 1967.
He was appointed High Court judge in 1990 and rose to Chief Justice on March 14, 2003.
Muhammad Ali who was born in Mersing, Johor in 1947, began his career with Bank Negara Malaysia amid the racial riots on May 13, 1969. He was appointed chief executive of JCorp in January 1982.
Ahmad Fairuz said the degree awarded meant so much to him and he believed that law students had the creativity to interpret the law during lessons.
He commended UiTM law students for their strong command of English and that it was better than the level achieved by those who studied overseas.
"We cannot close our minds from learning the justice systems of other countries like the communist, socialist, continental and Islam. There is no harm in studying them and applying the good aspects in our country," he added.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Ali said the focus for the Malays currently was to encourage them to be involved in entrepreneurship.
"The big challenge is to ensure that the Malays and Bumiputeras do not lag behind and that concerted efforts must be made to increase the number of entrepreneurs from this group," he added. |

aku perasan sejak aku belajar law nih, secara tak langsung dah improve english aku, either dari segi percakapan mahu pun pembacaan...dulu, i have to admit, nak skor english spm tu, aku bulat2 hapal karangan yg aku recycle dari 3 trial exams..kebetulan pulak tajuk bebas, kena dgn karangan yg aku hapal...time2 aku spm tu, paper english ni memang aku tak baca langsung, malas, biasala aku pun melayu
tapi pas aku amik law, there's no short cut...kalo nak baca kes2 tu, english aku kena telan hidup2, mula2 azabnya yarabbi, Tuhan jela tau...1 page kes mlj tu baca setengah jam pun tak abis2 lagi...dah abis baca, nak pahamkan lagi, mak oi seksanye...tapi as the time goes by, semuanya makin mudah, yela practice makes perfect...setakat judgment 40 muka tu, insyaAllah la bole handle...rasa seronok lak kan baca paper nst, the star, kalo dulu baca asik2 tak paham berita, asik2 tak paham berita, skang makin senang...kiranya belajar law ni serampang 4,5 mata la...dapat study law, polish english, polish skill in presentation, polish etika kite, gaya bercakap, gaya berjalan, aku memang rasa seronok, kesannye terasa la skang...
so, budak2 yg nak amik law jangan takut2...asalkan korang kejer keras & determine, kite bole dapat ape yg kite harapkan, even lebih lagi |

semalam (jumaat), presiden mahkamah rayuan, yg menduduki hierarki kedua selepas ketua hakim negara, tan sri abdul malek ahmad meninggal dunia...jawatan hakim besar malaya (hierarki ketiga tertinggi, selepas presiden mahkamah rayuan) sampai skang blom diisi sejak tan sri norma yaakob bersara awal tahun...maka ada dua kekosongan yg perlu diisi segera, ntah sapela hakim yg naik pangkat tu...
sape2 yg interested nak belajar law, tolong alert dgn current issues, especially pasal law..ini ada yg tak kenal sape ketua hakim negara..ada senior yg aku kenal, final year final sem tapi peguam negara pun dia tak tau sape, elok dihempuk je kepala orang camni... |

dissenting judgment dah kuar kat www.kehakiman.gov.my
maybe yg majority judgment dia akan upload kemudian
tapi aku dah paste judgment tu kat sini --> http://forum.cari.com.my/viewthr ... age%3D1&page=75
aku punye ulasan psl dissenting judgment pun aku ada tepek kat situ
personally aku rasa judgment richard malanjum is weak & vague...tambah2 aku tak paham kenapa dia perlu highlight awal2 lagi yg malaysia ni negara sekular (che omar che soh)...mcm nak kata sebab malaysia negara sekular so lina joy bole buang status islam dia dlm mykad...isu dlm kes che omar che soh totally different dgn lina joy, ape perlu dia quote part secular state tuh... |
