Did David De Gea do de business for Man Utd?
CONFIDENCE
LOOKED nervous early on and almost came a cropper when he tried to dribble past Rafael van der Vaart.
But United's keeper grew in confidence and played some neat passes to his defenders. Certainly an improvement on his first United match.
HANDLING CROSSES
TESTED on only two crosses all evening. The first came from the left and he made a comfortable claim before throwing the ball out to kick-start a United attack.
For the second, he flapped hopelessly and had a real let-off as Jermain Defoe hit a post.
SHOT-STOPPING
TOTTENHAM'S attackers wanted to test the keeper after his previous blunders but he looked solid.
The Spaniard made a decent stop in the first half to deny Gareth Bale.
He then saved smartly from Niko Kranjcar and Rafael van der Vaart.
POSITIONING
IN the right place at the right time whenever he was called into action - and could do no more than make the saves.
As Spurs slowed, he spent a long time just ball watching but still kept his focus and put his body on the line when required.
COMMUNICATION
HARDLY in the same league as predecessor Edwin van der Sar when it comes to barking out orders.
Maybe it is the language barrier but De Gea was too quiet and reluctant to pass out instructions. He needs to find his voice to help out his team-mates.
IS HE GOOD ENOUGH?
ON this evidence, yes - and you can understand why Fergie signed him AND kept him in the team despite his errors against Man City and West Brom.
After settling his nerves, he looked OK despite playing behind a young, experimental defence. |

Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City turut terasa bahang undian kumpulan
MONACO: Juara bertahan, Barcelona diundi dalam kumpulan sama menentang juara tujuh kali, AC Milan dalam majlis undian peringkat kumpulan, Liga Juara-Juara Eropah musim 2011-2012, malam tadi.
Selain gergasi Itali itu yang disingkirkan dalam kelompok 16 terakhir, musim lalu, barisan didik Pep Guardiola dari Sepanyol itu juga berdepan FC Bate Borisov dari Belarus dan Viktoria Plzen dalam saingan Kumpulan H.
Manchester United yang membuat kemunculan ke-17 dalam kejohanan kelab terbesar dunia itu adalah pasukan pertama daripada jumlah 32 yang dicabut daripada balang oleh legenda Portugal, Luis Figo.
Juara tiga kali dari England itu akan menentang Benfica - kelab dari Portugal yang menjuarai gelaran dua kali pada awal 60-an dan juga FC Basel serta wakil Romania, FC Otelul Galati dalam Kumpulan C.
Tiga lagi kelab Inggeris - Chelsea, Arsenal dan Manchester City masing-masing diundi dalam Kumpulan A, E dan F apabila saingan bermula pada 13 September ini.
Dalam majlis berkenaan bintang Barcelona dari Argentina, Lionel Messi diumumkan Pemain Terbaik UEFA 2010.
