Not content with slamming the mental fragility of his Manchester City team-mates, Robinho has now expanded his player-psychologist role to encompass player scouting and acquisitions.
The outspoken former Real Madrid forward laid into his colleagues for lacking a winning mentality and has now gone so far as to propose a full defensive restructure to boss Mark Hughes.
Fellow Brazilians Kleber, Luisao and Thiago Silva would accompany Micah Richards in a new-look back four with a distinctly South American flavour.
"I have suggested Kleber, the Santos left-back, and Thiago Silva, who plays as a centre-back for Fluminense who has been playing very well," Robinho said. "[Hughes] mentioned [Benfica stopper] Luisao."
To be fair to Robinho, his opinion was likely countenanced, and unlike most transfer dreams it is based in some logic.
"If I could choose anyone it would be Kaka, but at this moment the team needs to improve the defence," he continued.
"When you build a house, you have to start from the floor. You have to start with the defence, and then you fix the attack." |
