this song actually has NOTHING to do with xtina...she already did that dlm album stripped. the only other song in the back to basics album that has anything to do with her father is lagu oh mother.
this song is about LINDA PERRY and her relationship with her father. the only thing christina did was change the lyrics a bit to generalize the song for everyone to relate to instead of specifying it for linda perry only.
plus, sapa yg ckp xtina looks fake in the video, DUH....mmg dia sengaja look FAKE. because the video is an ODE to the OVERACTING of the silent movies of the 40s.geez....i already wrote that # in my earlier posts.
and the major contrast between the happiness depicted in the video and the sadness of the song was DELIBERATELY done by christina and floria sigismondi (one of floria's trademarks in her direction of videos [and her art works] was to show symbolism and contrast. xtina nak tunjuk yg a CIRCUS which usually symbolises HAPPINESS and the people working in it may actually be SAD beneath all that exterior of EUPHORIA and RAPTURE. |
