J Ibe (Wycombe, £500,000)

Jordan Ibe is a 15-year-old winger who has recently broken into Wycombe Wanderers' first team.

He impressed during a recent trial at Liverpool, and now the Merseyside club areweighing a bid for him.

Ibe has also drawn interest from both Manchester clubs and Fulham, according to that report.

But considering he already had a trial at Liverpool, we think Ibe is heading to Anfield.

While Tottenham Hotspur were easily the busiest team in terms of transfers on January 30, with three youngsters going on loan to various levels of the game across Britain, it was Liverpool who pulled off a deal for around £100,000 that could turn out to be the best bit of business Kenny Dalglish has ever pulled off.

The little-known Welsh youth is rated as one of the best young 'keepers in Britain and joins the Reds after four years in Wrexham's Academy, where he was capped at various levels for his country.

For Spurs fans, they will want to take note of young Tom Carroll and see how he gets on in the tough and tumble of the Championship. The diminutive midfielder featured in Tottenham's Europa League campaign this year and has been sent to Derby to toughen up. One for the future with Danny Ward.

Manchester United cut Liverpool FC ticket share by 1,000 for Premier League clash at Old Trafford

Manchester United have slashed Liverpool's allocation for next weekend's Premier League clash at Old Trafford by almost a third, the M.E.N. can reveal. In what may be considered a tit-for-tat move Reds bosses have cut the number of tickets given to their Merseyside rivals for the Saturday showdown from 3,100 to 2,100.

United officials say the decision has been made for safety reasons after talks with the police and Trafford council and add that it will allow for extra stewards. But many will see it as a direct response to Liverpool reducing the allocation given to the Reds' travelling support on their last two visits to Anfield. Last October United were given 1,965 tickets instead of the usual 3,015. Officials on Merseyside cited persistent standing and the blocking of aisles and gangways as the reason behind the move.

Last weekend the Reds were handed 5,319 tickets for the FA Cup Fourth Round clash out of a potential 6,400. Again segregation issues were raised as the reason for the reduction. A United spokesman said: “The safety of all fans is paramount and a detailed risk assessment of the match carried out by us and agreed by their Safety Advisory Group which includes Greater Manchester Police and Trafford Council has resulted in Liverpool receiving a reduced allocation for this specific game. “This was considered necessary to allow for additional stewarding and segregation plans.” The reduction may add to what is already set to be a potentially explosive atmosphere.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who was banned for eight matches after racially abusing United captain Patrice Evra, will be eligible to play and police will be on alert. Evra was roundly booed by the home fans when the Reds lost 2-1 last Saturday. Sir Alex Ferguson had written to United's travelling support before the game asking them to behave themselves. Police praised the behaviour of both sets of supporters after the match, which saw 17 ejections and two arrests. However, a 59-year-old Liverpool fan from North Wales was arrested later after video footage emerged of him making an apparent monkey gesture from his seat.

He remains on bail. The match kicks off at 12.45pm and will be televised on Sky. Liverpool are not expected to complain about the reduction.

Liverpool FC sign teenager Joao Carlos Teixeira from Sporting Lisbon

The 19-year-old Portuguese youth international will join the club’s academy having impressed against them in the NextGen series earlier this season.

Earlier this week Teixeira completed his move and starts training with the reserves’ squad at the Academy.

“We are very lucky to be able to sign him,” Comolli said. “At Anfield and also in the second game against us he did extremely well. Throughout the competition we scouted him.

“He’s a great addition for the Academy and hopefully he will be able to give Kenny some thinking about taking him (to Melwood).

“We have signed who we think is one of the best players in the tournament. Everyone is very pleased we’ve been able to sign him.”

Comolli believes the club’s youngsters have learned a lot from their participation in this season’s NextGen Series, which is a Champions League style under-19s competition.

“It’s been great experience for them with ups and downs,” he added.

“It’s exactly what we wanted for the young players – to face different styles of football has been a fantastic learning experience.

“We were the first club to sign up for it and hope it will grow and grow in the future. Youth football was crying out for these type of games.”
