Lampard Blasts Arrogant And Ungrateful Youngsters
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard says young players today have it too easy, also believing they no longer have respect for others
Young players todayare disrespectful and don't appreciate just how cushy their lives are, according to England international Frank Lampard.
The nowChelsea star spent his days as a youth trainee cleaning the boots ofthe West Ham first team and learning about respect, something heinsists taught him valuable lessons about behaviour and attitude on andoff the pitch.
"Sometimes I cringe at the way football has gone here with the youngplayers," Lampard said in the Daily Mail. "Everything is easy. They don't have to clean boots any more, they drive BMW's, they get a very easy life.
"Sometimesthey walk past you and don't give you a second look," added the29-year-old of the arrogance of some of the youngsters at Chelsea. "I'dlove to go back to the days of more respect and a kid going out anddoing double training sessions - that's what got me where I am." |

Sinclair joins Charlton on loan
Charlton have completed the signing of young Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair on loan until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old, who has already had successful loan spells at Plymouth and QPR, goes straight into the squad to face Sheffield United on Saturday.
Sinclair told Charlton's website: "I'm really excited to be here. I have come here to get more experience. I want to keep playing and get some goals."
Sinclair has made seven appearances for Chelsea this season.

Cudicini hails Blues fans
Carlo Cudicini says he probably would have left Chelsea by now had it not been for the fantastic support of the Blues fans.
Cudicini has had to settle for a place on the bench following the arrival of Petr Cech almost four years ago, but the Italian has stuck it out at Stamford Bridge.
It has been a frustrating time for Cudicini but the 34-year-old admits the support of the fans has helped him through it.
"The supporters are probably one of the biggest reasons [I stayed]," said Cudicini. "Of course it was difficult to sit on the bench every game but when I had the chance, the supporters gave me great confidence and help.
"Still now when I play I hear them behind me, chanting my name - after nine years I feel shivers and a great feeling when I play."
9 tawon di Chelsea! Lejen! Great backup for Cech yg lately slalu wat mistakes |
