Kim Bum, F4 guy, visits Thailand to prepare for his fan meeting ‘One Sweet Day with KIM BUM The 1st Thailand Fan Meeting’ [Interview]. July 30th, 2010, 5:30 PM, at Paradise Park, Bangkok.
Korean superstar Kim Bum, one of the F4 members from hit drama series Boys Over Flowers flew to Thailand for the “One-2-Call presents One Sweet Day with KIM BUM The 1st Thailand Fan Meeting”, happening on July 31st, 2010, at Paragon Hall 3, Siam Paragon Mall.
Today, Kim Bum had an informal meet-and-greet with Thai fans on the first floor of Paradise Park Mall. A large crowd of Thai fans flocked to the area to welcome their idol and were treated to a small interview from him on stage.
Please introduce yourself.
Hello, I’m Kim Bum. Thank you so much coming out in such large numbers today. Tomorrow I’m having a fan meeting and I hope to see you all there. I love you all!
Could you say a few words inviting your fans to the event tomorrow?
Thank you again for the great outpouring of support today. I hope you can make it tomorrow. [said in Thai] See you tomorrow!
Later, at 6:30 PM, Kim Bum gave an interview to the gathered members of the media on the 4th floor of Paradise Park.
Kim Bum: Hello to everyone who has come out to welcome me. I hope to see you all again at my fan meeting tomorrow.
Could you please talk about your working experiences?
When I acted in my first drama 5 years ago, I was very excited and had no idea what was going on around me. I was just extremely focused on my acting and I was very nervous in front of the camera. That’s actually how I feel today, since this is my first time coming to Thailand. There are so many cameras!
We’re used to you being an actor, but you’ve brought along a band this time. What got you interested in singing?
Actually, I never planned to debut as a singer, but whenever I had a chance to sing, I’ve been met with a pretty good response. So I’m not really presenting myself as a singer, but as an actor with this other side for my fans to see.
You’ve had a number of fan meetings. Before each one, how do you cope with your nervousness?
I’d say people in general get nervous in front of cameras, but I get nervous backstage. Once I get on stage though, I’m not nervous at all, especially if I’m performing with my band. They’re my friends, so that helps to really relax me.
What do you do in your free time?
Right now, I’m really interested in music. I want my fans to see new things from me, so I’ve been making time to train on the guitar and other instruments.
Can you speak any Thai?

Anything you want to say to your fans?
I just want to mention again about tomorrow. This is my first fan meeting in Thailand. I am very happy that I finally have this opportunity. I have a lot prepared for my fans!
How do you feel about this visit to Thailand?
I’m happy. I’ve waited a long time for this day and I hope I have many more chances to return to Thailand.
As you know, the Boys Over Flowers cast love to hold fan meetings in Japan. On the 18th, there was another one in Osaka, attended by Gu Hye Sun, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Joon, and Kim Bum.
Aside from the normal interview, the cast also performed on stage. First up was Gu Hye Sun, followed by Kim Bum (who sang 2 songs), Kim Joon + T-Max (5 songs), and Kim Hyun Joong (2 solo songs).
The fans welcomed them with all they had, and it seemed to be a successful fan meeting. I wonder if they will be having any more in the future?
Actor Kim Bum recently revealed that he lost two toenails, surprising many fans with his statement.
Kim Bum wrote on his Twitter, “Even though it rained a lot, I still went to play soccer~ I lost two toenails… I have 10 toes but only 7 toenails… ㅋ”.
A representative from Kim Bum’s management revealed, “After he took off his shoes, two toenails had fallen out. There is some discomfort, but there are no problems when he is exercising or carrying out daily activities.”
Kim Bum has been playing soccer since elementary school, and now he is on a team named ‘MEN‘ with Xiah Junsu, Kim Hyun Joong, and others.
Regarding this incident, netizens wrote, ‘You played soccer until your toenails fell out… I hope you recover quickly’
‘Be careful while playing soccer in the rain! Also be careful not to catch a cold’

On the other hand, Kim Bum is set to star in the upcoming drama Haruwith U-Know Yunho, Park Shi Hoo, Han Chae Young, Lee Da Hae, and Big Bang.
Ouch. I think my toes just curled in pain. I wonder what happened to that last nail if he only has 7 now?
As you probably heard, Kim Hyun Joong’s new drama <layful Kiss> only received 3.5% in viewer ratings. Thinking about the other boys of F4, people have started to notice a pattern and dubbed the F4′s unfortunate events as the “Flower Boy curse”.
Kim Bum was the first to take on another project after <Boys Over Flowers> ended, and <Dream> fared better than <layful Kiss>, although only by a measly 1.5%. It must be a great disappointment for Kim Bum since he worked with a well known actor, Joo Jin Mo, and an idol singer, Son Dam Bi. Later, Kim Bum sought after another drama, <The Woman Who Still Wants To Get Married>. Kim Bum had high hopes, as he was working with a more well-known cast, but the result was the same. Both of his dramas had an average of 5% viewer ratings.
Next is Lee Min Ho, who is the most successful out of the 4. He picked and chose his projects carefully, and <ersonal Taste> was met with moderate success. It couldn’t compare to the 30% ratings that <Boys Over Flowers> had, but I’m sure Kim Bum would sleep soundly if his drama had the same ratings as <ersonal Taste>, which was on average 15%.
Kim Joon stayed away from acting after <Boys Over Flowers>, but he could not escape the “Flower Boy curse”. Late last year, Kim Joon joined the variety show <Invincible Baseball Team>, but his position gradually diminished, as not many people paid attention to him.
Lastly, Kim Hyun Joong has always enjoyed a good level of popularity since his debut, being the leader of SS501. Although the low ratings may not be entirely his fault (<Baker King / Kim Tak Goo> is dominating the ratings), but other dramas such as <My Girlfriend is a Gumiho> is doing moderately well. Was the low ratings due to bad execution of the drama, or was he simply a victim of the “Flower Boy curse”?
4 different flowers met with 4 different kinds of misfortune. Only time will tell us if the curse will subside.
There are some unseen photos that weren’t revealed in the last post about the Japanese fanmeeting. Especially, Kim Bum playing the guitar is very handsome.
SBS E! TV "Star Q10" 4 Hallyu Wave Emperor, which consists of Sukkie, Lee Min Ho, Kim Bum and Kim Hyun Joong, will air Chuseok Special programme. It will be broadcast on Sept 22 at 8pm.

Actor Kim Bum and miss ASuzy’s affectionate pose has earned the jealousy of the remaining miss A members during a recent fashion photo shoot.
The group recently came together for the second time in order to model for the winter photo shoot of fashion brand “Edwin.” The photo shoot was done under the theme of utilizing a ‘bench’ in a variety of ways to express resting, meeting, and waiting in the city.
Kim Bum and miss A’s Suzy played the role of a couple, while the rest of the members looked on with jealous gazes.
Representatives of Edwin complimented, “Kim Bum and miss A look stylish in any outfit they wear. We got a lot of great pictures of them.”
Kim Bum and Hwang Jung Eum enjoy a gourmet date for new CF
Actor Kim Bum and actress Hwang Jung Eum have recently teamed up for a new CF, and are receiving attention for the special ‘heart dance’ they performed for it.
On October 15th, Kim Bum and Hwang Jung Eum shot a CF together at the ‘D’Maris / 드마리스‘ seafood restaurant. The concept was centered around a celebrity couple enjoying a delicious date together at ‘D’Maris’, where over 500 dishes (including steak, sushi, and spaghetti) are served. After eating steak repeatedly for the cuts, Kim Bum joked, ‘If I don’t eat another steak for a while, I would be fine.‘
Aside from enjoying the delicious food, the pair have also revealed their ‘heart couple’ dance, in which they make heart shapes with their arms. Kim Bum surprised many with his hidden dancing talent, while performing to the D’Maris theme song.

Lee Min Ho Riding Bikes on the Han River with...............
Netizen detectives or the Twitter police have discovered that Lee Min-ho recently went bike riding along the Han River with a special someone… his buddy and fellow F4 member Kim Beom. Fans noticed that on November 21st Lee Min-ho shared the following:

Looking at the individual tweets and the side-by-side comparison in the first pic, I think it would be safe to say that they indeed were together at the Han River cruising on bikes (while writing this I also just noticed that in the last pic of Beom’s, on the side laying on the grass is a white bike- guess what color Min-ho’s bike was?). I bet no one even recognized them while they were out and about, wrapped up in their winter wear they’re barely recognizable. While fans of Boys Over Flowers are all giddy at the thought that the two are really friends, some netizens are having a good natured laugh at the pics because usually couples spend time together by the Han. Ahhh, maybe that’s why they didn’t mention that they were there together in their tweets, lol.

I think you already know they go to the same dentist. Whether they have appointments at similar times is beyond me. This dentist is rather popular in the idol star circle. I hear he’s also the dentist for some Big Bang members.
Back to the good o’ BoF days. Instead of showing pictures taken with cute kids, display the pictures you have taken with each other! Don’t make us raid your computers for evidence.
I really like this pair because it gives the illusion that they were webcaming each other. It could be true, who knows.
Now this pair is my favorite. It’s very evident that it’s the same place where they took the picture (look at the pots in the background). I believe this photo was part of So Eun’s interview last year. Kim Bum was merely taking an endorsement photo there (for some odd reason). Also gives an illusion that the pictures were taken at the same time, doesn’t it? A good “coincidence” to fend off the reporters perhaps?
