Rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel had two simultaneous DVD releases on December 28, “20th L'Anniversary LIVE -Day1-” and “20th L'Anniversary LIVE -Day2-,” along with a “20th L'Anniversary LIVE -Complete Box-” set containing both. According to Oricon sales data, the “-Day1-” and “-Day2-” DVDs have sold more than 87,000 copies combined since their release, pushing L’Arc~en~Ciel to a lifetime total of 1 million DVDs sold.
“-Day1-” and “-Day2-” sold 43,646 and 43,510 copies, respectively, ranking #2 and #3 on the most recent sales charts behind AKB48.
Among bands and groups, L’Arc~en~Ciel is just the third artist to sell 1 million DVDs, after Mr.Children (1.559 million) and B'z (1.433 million).
L’Arc~en~Ciel has also sold more than 1 million units on VHS, making this their second million achievement in video releases.
Lately, yasu is becoming like my manager (laughs).
