From the Daily Wail - After an humiliating defeat that ended Arsenal's European dreams, striker Niklas Bendtner could be forgiven for wanting to drown his sorrows.
But the night ended in even more embarrassing fashion for the 6ft 2in Dane when he was escorted from nightclub Boujis at 4am with his trousers falling down.
The 20-year-old was escorted out of the young royals favourite haunt in South Kensington by a burly doorman with his trousers in disarray exposing his black pants after Arsenal's 3-1 Champions League semi-final defeat by Manchester United.
He had appeared as a late substitute during the match at Arsenal抯 Emirates Stadium in north London.
A source said: 'Nicklas was with a group of friends inside the club, and just seemed to want to wind down after his match. But for some reason, his belt was undone as he left at 4am and his pants started to slip.
'He was trying to grab them to pull them up, but one of the bouncers was more concerned about getting him into his car, so virtually dragged him in despite his struggles.'
And by the time he got into his waiting car, the trousers had fallen to his knees and the waistband of his Emporio Armani underpants could be seen.
It was some might say, the icing on the cake after a night which saw Arsenal's dreams of European Cup glory go up in flames.
The Danish striker clearly wanted to erase the memory of defeat, but it appears he may have gone too far judging by the calamitous state he emerged from the club in.
Nicklas Bendtner has made the following statement in relation to images of him outside a nightclub yesterday evening:
"I love this club and was so disappointed to lose against Manchester United last night. Reaching a Champions League Final is one of my biggest dreams and getting knocked out was a massive blow.
"However, no matter how disappointed I was, it does not excuse my behaviour later in the evening. I may be young but my actions were a poor error of judgment and something I deeply regret. I want to apologise to the Club and the fans for letting them and myself down.
"I cannot change the past but will learn from my mistakes. Tuesday night is behind me now and I want to use my energy to fully focus on our three remaining games this season, starting with Chelsea on Sunday."
