Missing MH370: Penang police pray for safe return of all on board

Penang police taking part in the solat hajat at the state police contingent headquarters.

GEORGE TOWN: A solemn atmosphere prevailed at several places of worship as Penang police of various faiths offered prayers for the passengers and crew of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

Leading prayers at the state police contingent headquarters was Penang police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Abd Rahim Hanafi.

Over 1,500 personnel took part in the solat hajat prayers meant to seek divine guidance for those affected by the incident.

SDCP Rahim said the entire Penang force of 6,100 personnel from various ethnic backgrounds had expressed their concern over the matter.

Penang police praying at the Mahindrama Buddhist Temple in Kampar Road.

“All our thoughts go out to the missing passengers and crew members. We hope that the plane can be found soon and pray for their safe return,” said SDCP Rahim.

A similar session was held at the Mahindrama Buddhist Temple in Kampar Road, attended by Penang Special Branch chief Senior Asst Comm Cheong Koon Kock and Balik Pulau OCPD Supt Lai Fah Hin.

Fifty-six personnel attended the session led by temple chief monk Ven E. Indaratana Maha Thera.

Penang police praying at the Sivan Temple in Jalan Datuk Keramat.

A large number of police personnel also converged at the Sivan Temple in Jalan Datuk Keramat and St George’s Church in Lebuh Farquhar.

A prayer session will be held at the Sikh temple in Jalan Gurdwara today.

Ustaz tu kata boleh solat ditempat duduk. Mmg boleh solat semasa sblm boarding tapi klu belum masuk waktu mcmana nak solat?. Kalau suboh mmg kena solat dlm plane. Mcm flight yg bertolak malam spt ke china, korea and japan. Yg dr london pun kena solat subuh, zuhur dan asar dlm flight (if flight mlm dr lhr)
Utk plane wide body -mmg ada tempat solat, boleh tarik langsir untuk lindungi semasa solat. Sejadah pun ada disediakan

Ha... Aerofloot Russia... skrg kes untuk disengaged auto cruise tak pernah jadi...tp taklau lah ka ...

Aku pernah naik Aeroflot Rusia ni thn 1997 dari K.L kiranya naik nak ke UK. Skrg aku tak pasti ada tak lagi airlines ini kat KLIA. Tak boleh lupa masa mendarat kat Lapan Terbang Moscow sebab sgt janggal gila tengok airport yg hanya flight diaorang je boleh mendarat situ bukan airlines lain. Punyalah tertutup punya negara. Nampak lapangan terbang tu suasana dia mcm thn 70 an. Yg ada selain airlines diaorang Aeroflot ialah China Airlines.. Dahlah transit kat Moscow tu 3 jam.Mmg scary lah sebab tak nampak org Muslim pun semua org mat salleh je.

Tak payahlah sentap sgt pasal co pilot tu. Dah sah2 KPN smlm kata mereka kaji juga gaya hidup & peribadi semua crew & penumpang. Tak memasal pompuan tu kena bambu pulak. Lagipun ia mmg tidak beretika & melanggar undang2 walaupun katanya selalu dibuat...

The FAA rule sets new design and performance standards for all current and future airplanes with 20 or more seats in commercial service and all cargo airplanes that have cockpit doors. Specifically, the rule:

• Requires strengthening of cockpit doors. The doors will be designed to resist intrusion by a person who attempts to enter using physical force. This includes the door, its means of attachment to the surrounding structure, and the attachment structure on the bulkhead itself. The FAA rule uses an impact standard that is 50 percent higher than the standard developed by the National Institute of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. In addition to intrusion protection, the FAA is using a standard sufficient to minimize penetration of shrapnel from small arms fire or a fragmentation device. The agency is providing guidance to operators on acceptable materials. All new doors must meet existing FAA safety requirements.
• Requires cockpit doors to remain locked. The door will be designed to prevent passengers from opening it without the pilot's permission. An internal locking device will be designed so that it can only be unlocked from inside the cockpit.
• Controls cockpit access privileges. Operators must develop a more stringent approval process and better identification procedures to ensure proper identification of a jump seat rider.
• Prohibits possession of keys to the cockpit by crewmembers not assigned to the cockpit.
