THE TWO things that network engineer Muhammad Zahid Malim, 28, loved were Manchester United and cars — and he has the vehicle to prove it.
He modified his Gen-2 in a Manchester United theme, changing everything from the car seats to the steering wheels.

Even the body of the car was decorated in the design of the current red and black home kit.
“Some people display the names of performance teams on their cars. Since I really like Manchester United, I thought why not?” said Zahid.
Although his modified car was already red, it still took him between two and three years to transform it into a Red Devils car.
“Sometimes I have to specially order the various parts because you can’t get all of it here,” he said.
During the photo shoot at the Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam carpark, he admitted to spending more than RM5,000 to deck his car in everything black and red.
To keep up with his interests for the football team and for cars, Zahid also joined the community of local Manchester United fans through the portal www.mymanutd.com and fellow Gen 2 owners through www.Gen2Club.com.
Personalised: Muhammad Zahid even has a personalised Man Utd number plate that is interchangeable with the actual licence plate.
“The United fans share a common passion and we have various events like futsal and badminton every week. We also get together in different places like Wangsa Maju, Shah Alam or Bangi to watch the live matches,” said Zahid.
Arsenal Football Club Supporters Malaysia (AFCSM) founder K. Anand also found it befitting to display the Arsenal football club on his Mazda Lantis.

“I’ve been an Arsenal fan since I was 10 and have been supporting them for the past 30 years. I try to promote it as much as possible to get people excited about it, so why not put it on my car?” said Anand.
He had the Arsenal logo air-brushed onto his car about six years ago, and kept it simple with no other designs on it.
“It’s just the logo on it and nothing else because Arsenal are great as they are,” he said.
He clearly remembers the time he got it done in December 2003, which was the season that Arsenal won the English league title unbeaten.
Proud: Anand had the Arsenal football club logo air-brushed on the body of his car.
Even though the rest of his family were Manchester United fans, he did not stop supporting the club and ranked the time since Arsene Wenger became manager as the “best years of our lives as Arsenal supporters”.
Anand is still actively involved with the supporters’ club and keeps in touch with fellow supporters through their website www.arsenalmy.com.
With both Manchester United and Arsenal hovering at the second and third spot behind Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League, the match between the two teams on Jan 31 would be a highly anticipated one.
The Football Every Day podcast crew together with TigerFC would be hosting the Football Every Day @ SOULed OUT viewing party which starts at 10pm.
The highlight of the party would be the Predict ‘n’ Win contest, where participants stand a chance of winning a framed Arsenal jersey signed by the players themselves, complete with a certificate of authenticity.
From now until Jan 31, SOULed Out patrons who buy a bucket (four bottles) of Tiger beer would receive a score card where they can put in their predictions for the big match.
Anand’s predicted a close match with a 3-1 win for Arsenal while Zahid feels that the match would end in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Wayne Rooney and Cesc Febregas.
