"City Hunter's" Lee Min Ho Meets with Hollywood Producer Terence Chang!

With “City Hunter” ending in two weeks, Lee Min Ho may be heading to Hollywood anytime soon! Just recently, Hong Kong and American film producer Terence Chang flew to Korea to meet up with the popular actor. Although nothing has been officially announced, the meeting is already causing many speculations about Lee Min Ho’s possible career in Tinseltown.
Terence Chang is known for producing hits like “Mission: Impossible II” (2000), starring Tom Cruise, “FACE/OFF,” (1997) starring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage, “Broken Arrow” (1996), starring John Travolta and Christian Slater, and more. He’s also one of John Woo’s longtime friends and favored producers. Currently, the famed producer is working with Korean director John Lee (aka Lee Jae Han) in producing Hollywood film “The Killer,” (2012) starring Jung Woo Sung.

The famed producer personally visited the set of “City Hunter,” watched the filming, and also chatted with Park Min Young before meeting with Lee Min Ho. Representatives of StarHaus Entertainment stated, “With Lee Min Ho’s popularity overseas growing, especially in China, Mr. Chang took an interest in him and requested a meeting. Mr. Chang praised Lee Min Ho, saying he looked even better in person and is an actor who can challenge himself endlessly.”
Lee Min Ho commented, “Everything was hectic because I was in the middle of filming, but I felt very fortunate and grateful that such a famous producer came all the way to Korea to meet me. I will continue to work hard and prepare myself – in foreign languages and others – to succeed abroad.”
Meanwhile, "City Hunter" acheived its highest rating yet with 19.9% (ABG Nielsen) for last night's episode. Sung Yuri's "Romance Town" followed with 11.6%, and Jung Yong Hwa's "Heartstrings" with 6.2%. Lee Min Ho's "City Hunter" will air its 16th episode tonight, July 14th, on SBS at 9:55PM KST.

Lee Min Ho’s Popularity Continues to Soar in China

 Lee Min Ho’s popularity in China has been off the charts lately as his latest TV drama “City Hunter” continues to gain recognition across the country, local media reported today. According to China’s top portal Baidu, Lee Min Ho was voted as the “most searched male star” among all celebrities from across the world. In fact, Lee Min Ho and Justin Bieber were the only two non-Chinese celebrities to make it in the top 10.
Also, according to youku.com and tudou.com, two of China’s largest video content sites, Lee Min Ho’s TV drama series “City Hunter” ranked #1 on both weekly and daily view counts. “More than 35 million people visited the ‘City Hunter’ webpage, which have led to 100 million view counts so far,” Lee Min Ho’s representative told local media. His previous hit drama show, “Boys Over Flowers,” was also picked as the most favored Korean TV drama in a separate poll.
As Lee Min Ho’s presence keeps growing in China, local Chinese media are also providing extensive coverage of the star actor. Some media outlets have described him as a “marvelous man,” lauding his mature acting skills. It has even led to increased sales revenue as some of the fashion items worn by Lee Min Ho have completely sold out.

[Recap] City Hunter Episode 15a

Back to the semi-cliffhanger, YJ grabs on to Yoon Sung but he just falls back asleep.. (Phew!) Yoon Sung calls over the ambulance.
 
Target Number Four has finished burning the secret documents, and his pretty secretary comes back with news that somebody infiltrated the complex. (He figures that it was the City Hunter) Target Number Four thinks that he is safe now.
 
However, JP gets the original version of the documents!
 
JP calls Yoon Sung to warn him that YJ is hot on their trail. JP to Yoon Sung, “You have big dreams. You love, and also protect your love. Do you think everything works out the way you want it to?” Yoon Sung, “I will survive, I will survive and protect everything.”
JP talks to himself, “Yoon Sung, you and I can never have a normal happy life…”
 
Nana asks questions about Yoon Sung’s mission and Target Number Four. Yoon Sung basically tells her to buzz off, then she tells Yoon Sung it’s time to meet his mother.
The two arrive at the hospital, there is a boy looking underneath a sofa for coins. Nana lifts up the sofa.
 
The two are talking to his mother and Yoon Sung is intently looking at his mother. Yoon Sung’s mother “Tell Yoon Sung to stop staring at me like that, he’s going to put a hole into me.” He finds out through his mother that the child is the son of a woman that worked for Target Number Four’s chemical factory.
 
Then, Yoon Sung’s mother gives the wedding ring she received from his father, telling him to give it to Nana and to be happy. Yoon Sung’s momma already knows that he is in love with her! She tells him liking somebody is a good thing.
 
Yoon Sung leaves the room and watches Nana as she is drowsing. Nana tells Yoon Sung that she will lay off the missions, but to ask for her help whenever he needs her.
 
YJ is at a hospital and he finally wakes up. YJ’s underling thinks that YJ was trying to commit suicide. YJ realizes that Target Number Four has tried to kill him. He also realizes that Yoon Sung has saved him.
 
YJ sees Yoon Sung and Nana at the hospital. Also, YJ realizes that Yoon Sung is probably the son of Lee Kyung Hee and PMY.
The president is at Target Number Three’s side, YJ sees him and the two meet at a Pojang Macha (Korean Drinking place, pojang actually means package or wrapped, and it describes how plastic covers up a small area. In many Korean movies/dramas you will see a pojang macha appear at least once! They also usually have delicious side drinks that go well with soju! Yum!) to have some soju. YJ is depressed because he should have made his father confess. The president tells him a story about when he was younger, explaining that confessing is difficult, also that missing the timing for confessing is extremely important
YJ goes back home and Sehee had prepared food for him at the apartment. The two talk and YJ says that he feels like an island. Sehee, “Fighting YJ, you aren’t an island, you are more like a bridge between people.”
The bald guy, Yoon Sung, and Nana are eating KFC for dinner. The bald guy tells Yoon Sung to give up on the vengeance plan. Yoon Sung says that he needs to go through with this in order to lead a normal life.
Yoon Sung is alone looking at the ring and says, “If I am still alive by then…”
 
Nana comes in and has brought a drink so that he is healthy. Nana tells him that she believes in him no matter what he does and is cheering him on. She also says, “You know, that I like you right?” Yoon Sung, “How could you say that like it’s nothing all the time.” Nana, “Liking somebody is not a bad thing.”

[Recap] City Hunter Episode 15b

Nana, Nana’s partner, and Da Hae are in their room. Da Hae has taken a crazy amount of pictures of Yoon Sung. (Stalkerish much?) Nana is looking into the communications team door but Yoon Sung is not there.
 
Yoon Sung is watching Target Number Four and his bodyguard/assassin. He suddenly gets a text of his card usage, the bald guy purchased a grill worth $149. (HAHA I laughed out loud!)
 
Target Number Four is at the hospital with the mother from the hospital that has leukemia. Target Number Four is trying to dissuade the mother from making the incident into an industrial accident. Target Number Four offers a pretty sweet deal, for her son.
 
Target Number Four’s pretty secretary talks to Target Number Four, and she is berated for almost giving the list of chemicals used in the factory. He tears it apart, the son of the leukemia patient finds another coin but it is under Target Number Four’s foot. Target Number Four, “Mother and son are both like beggars…All of you are so cheap…”
 
The son is crying, “I’m not a beggar…” Yoon Sung picks up the coin. The boy has been collecting coins in order to buy his mother a gift. Yoon Sung starts to pick up the shredded pieces, and the boy says, “If you pick out stuff from the trash you are a real beggar!”
Yoon Sung returns home, asks the bald guy to piece together the shredded pieces.
 
Nana is in Yoon Sung's room! She has framed the picture of them together. Yoon Sung tells Nana to get rid of it. Then, when Nana tries to see what Yoon Sung is doing, he tells her to buzz off as well. She is clearly upset. He thinks to himself about what JP has said, how difficult it is to protect everything around him.
 
But, Nana hasn’t left she is helping out the bald guy. Yoon Sung drags her out.
Yoon Sung tells Nana that he is sorry as they are walking. Nana picks up some foil and turns it into a ring. He receives a call saying that he can give a bone marrow transplant.
 
At the hospital the nurse gives Yoon Sung's mother a radio to listen to music, it’s an old song and she is surprised. JP had brought the radio!
 
Nana is at Yoon Sung’s mother’s side. Nana tells Yoon Sung’s mother to be healthy. Yoon Sung’s mother also asks Nana if she hadn’t received a ring. Nana also has made it possible for Yoon Sung to sleep together with his mother. The two spend a memorable moment together, with his mother singing him a lullaby.
 
YJ meets with a person who graduated from the same middle school/high school with John Lee. (Yoon Sung's American name.) But the real John Lee actually passed away in a car accident. YJ figures out that somebody from the triangle had bought out the real John Lee’s genealogy information.
 
Yoon Sung is getting dialysis but Nana has pieced together the pieces, and also researched about Target Number Four’s dirt. Nana, “Do I look prettier now that I did the things you should be doing?” Yoon Sung, “Didn’t I tell you to look in a mirror Dak Nana?” (Dak = Chicken, so Chicken Nana.) Nana, “Am I some kind of animal farm? You always call me a bear or a chicken.”
 
Da Hae is working at a café. Da Hae is trying to make money in order to buy a gift for her father the president. It seems like Da Hae has almost given up on college. The bald guy has arrived and tires to buy Nana’s partner some drinks, but all of the cards aren’t working. Ki Joon arrives and takes care of paying.
 
The bald guy is furious because the cards are all restricted. The two get into an argument and Yoon Sung tells the bald guy to write an account book.
 
Yoon Sung receives a call from Nana. The bald guy has arrived at Nana’s apartment.
 
The bald guy is acting like a baby and Yoon Sung agrees to let the bald guy to use the credit cards now. Nana, “Could you keep the domestic dispute’s at home?”
Nana and Yoon Sung are together at the hospital. Yoon Sung is leaning on Nana’s shoulder and Nana asks about life at the triangle. Yoon Sung, “Right now you’re looking at me with devious eyes, huh? You don’t miss any chances, do you?”
 
Nana ends up asking Yoon Sung why he doesn’t admit his feelings for her. Yoon Sung, “I can’t say the words that I like you, don’t expect that.” Nana, “It’s not because I really wanted to hear it…” She asks instead to be granted one wish in the winter.
 
Yoon Sung is off on his mission. He is collecting samples of the toxic chemicals. Right when we think he has succeeded the security guards arrive.
 
Yoon Sung is briefly exposed to the chemicals, but he escapes safely after beating all of them up.
 
He receives a call from Nana, but she is just telling him about what she wants to do at the end of the year.
After Yoon Sung hangs up, he needs some rest, because of the exposure to chemicals.
 
YJ was waiting for Yoon Sung. YJ, “The City Hunter sent me a clip, it seems like Target Number Four is trying to kill me. I’m thankful, he’s worried about the person chasing after him…” They continue to flirt with each other, Yoon Sung replying that he will tell the City Hunter that YJ is thankful. Right when Yoon Sung is about to leave YJ drops a bomb, “It seems like you are tired, have a good rest, Pu Chai” (Yoon Sung’s triangle name!)
KYA >_< A nice way to end this episode, YJ has finally found out about Yoon Sung’s past!

[Recap] City Hunter Episode 16
Phew so many revelations in this episode, and hints of things to come? I will discuss what the show seems to hint at, towards the end of this episode. Hopefully soon, we will figure out what is going on!
We are back at the cliffhanger. YJ, “When the City Hunter was at the Triangle, the name that was used was Pu Chai.. just because time passed by the City Hunter probably didn’t forget that name?” Yoon Sung, “I told you, if you want to take me in, bring hard evidence that I am the City Hunter.”
Yoon Sung arrives in his apartment and he feints. When Yoon Sung wakes up he gives important documents, (like money and real estate) to the bald guy. The bald guy is concerned because Yoon Sung is acting like he will go away. Yoon Sung says, “I had forgot who I am for a while…”
 
Yoon Sung arrives at Nana’s apartment. Yoon Sung, “How long are you going to cling on to the memories of the people that aren’t around you… I never thought that I would love/like somebody in my life, but when I think about the possibility that you might have a hard life I can’t handle it, I don’t’ want to leave any memories of me with you, Kim Nana I like you, but I don’t think I can let you go, so please let me go first.. You know who I am, you know what kind of life I’ve lived, and what will happen to me…”
Nana asks him to forget that she likes her. Yoon Sung, “I can’t anymore… I said I liked you…This is my first and last favor that I ask of you…” Nana refuses. But, Yoon Sung asks a sobbing Nana to end it with him first.
Nana sobs in her apartment. (T_T) Nana, “Let’s stop crying Nana, he says that he is having a hard time, to forget him, so let’s forget him, it’s better that you have a hard time than him…”
YJ is looking at a map of info about the City Hunter. Also, Nana’s aunt comes in and she talks about the car accident and how it involves her family but she still will work with YJ because she really likes the prosecutor. YJ finds out that the witness has picked somebody else besides JP as the drug lord. Also, that the secret documents he asked the president to try and provide have disappeared.
The ex-officer implores JP to reveal the secret documents in order to bring back honor to his dead brother and father. However, JP thinks that they have to keep a hidden card up their sleeve, and also Yoon Sung will take care of the last target. (He is at the Blue House after all)
 
JP meets with Target Number Four. JP asks about the 1983 “Wipeout Plan” and he is angry as Target Number Four straight out lies, even calling them spies. JP asks Target Number Four about the problems with workers and industrial accidents. Target Number Four is adamant and tells JP his plan.
 
Now, the president and Target Number Four are arguing. The president wants Target Number Four to set the accident as an industrial one, Target Number Four is not listening and he will privatize insurance. He also threatens the president once more, saying that he has dirt besides the “Wipeout Plan.” Target Number Four is looking for someone.
 
Nana brought hand soap for Yoon Sung’s mother. Yoon Sung’s mother, “I’m glad that our energetic Nana is always with Yoon Sung.
 
The leukemia patient’s son is buying lip gloss with coins for his mother. The cashier is being a b*tch and not accepting the coins.
 
Yoon Sung pays for the lip gloss and mouths off the cashier. Yoon Sung tells Nana not to come to the hospital anymore.
 
Target Number Four’s bodyguard/assassin forces the leukemia patient to sign away her accident status, they are also going to try and take care of the labor activists with brute force.
 
The labor activists are being beat up when Yoon Sung arrives on scene!
 
Now, a showdown between the City Hunter and Target Number Four’s assassin/bodyguard.
 
Yoon Sung beats him up with a water bottle. Yoon Sung also takes the signed paper of the leukemia patient. |

[Recap] City Hunter Episode 16b

Da Hae is out shopping clothes for the president. Da Hae tells them that anti-café people were out to get her.
 
Da Hae has a tutor session with Yoon Sung but in front of the café, the anti-café members are trying to egg Da Hae but Nana gets hit by all the eggs instead. Yoon Sung rushes out but she rejects all of Yoon Sung’s offers for help.
 
Yoon Sung is with his mother, and she asks if there is anything that Yoon Sung is hiding. He will tell her after everything is over.
Yoon Sung, “Mom.. I don't think that liking somebody is only a happy affair.”
The leukemia patient’s son asks Yoon Sung to read him a story because he can’t read. When he is reading the boy the book, he can’t help but think about Nana when the boy says the word “Pal Lang Gwee.” (This is a word that describes ears that flap)
 
YJ is at the office when he gets a picture from Yoon Sung involving JP, Target Number Four, and two prosecutors.
YJ arrives on scene asking his supervisors what is going on. YJ accuses them and he is right, when he opens up a box it is filled with money. YJ warns/threatens Target Number Four that there was probably a survivor of the “wipeout plan.”
 
YJ is back at the supervisor’s office and he is laid off Target Number Four’s case.
Nana got a promotion. Her supervisor put in a recommendation for her, she will now be the president’s bodyguard.
 
The president, Da Hae, and Yoon Sung are eating lunch together. The president asks Yoon Sung if Da Hae can go into college, he honestly tells the president that Da Hae probably won’t be able to get into college. Da Hae admits the truth to her father that she asked for being tutored by Yoon Sung because she likes him.
The president is surprised at Yoon Sung’s courage for telling him the truth about Da Hae. The president asks Yoon Sung to eat with him occasionally.
 
Yoon Sung sees Nana in the hallway, he tells her to be a woman and take care of her face.
 
Yoon Sung thinks about Nana, and is at one of her favorite spots. (He also didn’t get rid of the picture of them together.) Nana calls out to him and walks towards him. Yoon Sung, “You’re supposed to always be enthusiastic.” Nana, “You made me this way.” Yoon Sung, “I am resentful that I met you, you are a nightmare that I don’t want to remember. Forget about me, and meet somebody and be happy.”
Nana runs to him, “Is that all you can say? You could say all those things to forget me, how could you tell me to meet another man? You are too cruel. When all of your business is over, I am going to wait, can you just come back to me? I will forget everything you have said. It’s not a difficult task. Just say that you will come back. If you don’t say that now, I won’t accept you if you come back.” Yoon Sung just walks away.
The person who has the secret documents tells YJ that Target Number Four had a copy and that JP has one as well.
 
The ex-officer is trying to convince JP to reveal the secret documents, instead of trying to make the corruption worse by spreading money.
 
The ex-officer calls Yoon Sung and tells him the information about the secret documents. (The ex-officer is also going to try and stall JP)
 
Yoon Sung is trying to open the safe, but YJ is right behind him.
JP arrives on scene however to every ones surprise the secret documents are not there!
Target Number Four actually has the documents. Target Number Four asks about the status of finding Lee Kyung Hee (Yoon Sung’s mother). Target Number Four tells the bodyguard/assassin that Lee Kyung Hee is his hidden card. (Oooh! What does the president have to do with Lee Kyung Hee.) Also, JP doesn’t want Yoon Sung to know about what’s in the private documents.
 
While Yoon Sung is looking for a picture of his father, the president shows him the album and asks, “Are you looking for this?”
