David Villa: Valencia's Trip To Sevilla Is Like A Final
El Guaje is eyeing Euro glory as well as a high finish in the league.
Star Valencia stiker David Villa has delcared that next Sunday's Primera Liga tie away to Sevilla is "like a final" for his team.
Villa is aware that a win over Sevilla would open up a considerable gap between them and the Andalusian outfit and bring them closer to their target of finishing in the top three in the Primera Liga.
"It is a final and [winning] would open an important gap," he told AS before noting that his side can guarantee a third spot finish if they can repeat the 39 point haul they achieved in the first half of the season.
"We need to continue this way and try to do the same thing in the second half of the season. We can get 78 points and that will get us third place for sure."
Already out of the Copa del Rey, Villa confirmed that Valencia's greatest hopes of silverware lie in the Europa League.
"We want to finish as high as possible in the league but our greatest aspirations lie in the Europa League," he noted. |
