and please don't say that every bad things happen in proton because of him mcm la he's the ceo of the proton from day one

please bear in mind eventhough proton is his brainchild but he can't be involved in managing proton because he was a prime minister back then
it would be weird and wrong for a PM to become a CEO of a company at the same time

what he did was to provide support and protection as the Government could give for proton for the sake of the industry

the only time when he starts involved in proton management and routine is when he became a chairman to proton in May 2014

in this short of time proton however managed to come out with 3 new models which are to unveiled soon

bro. past is past. mmg brainchild dia. but then berapa ramai kroni yang hisap darah kat situ. selama proton untung ke mana duit proton dibelanjakan. berapa lama proton tido sbb ade protection. orang lain kerja keras ke depan. dorang masih lagi buat model model facelift mcm saga keta kebal. momentum tu takde. true masa mula mula di uk proton nampak bagus. tapi apa action lepas tu? skarang bukan zaman goyang kaki. dan 3 model yang u sebut tu pun development lead time too short. normal development lead time around 2 - 3 years untuk model baru......sebab tu aku cakap dia ade ke takde takkan ubah apa apa.....

proton mula mengalami kemerosotan market share because of AFTA in 2005

(Petaling Jaya, Thursday): The government must fully explain the 107% drop in Proton Holdings Bhd’s net profits resulting in RM 12.35 million in its first quarter ended June 30, 2005 as compared with a net profit of RM166.47 million in the previous corresponding quarter. Proton suffered a loss despite a 6.8% rise in revenue to RM2.05 billion from RM1.92 billion a year earlier caused by operating costs jumped by more than 20% to RM2.12 billion.
Such an explanation is necessary to avoid Proton’s net losses from adversely affecting the performance of the KLSE. Proton said on Aug 30 the loss was mainly due to higher allowances for doubtful debts of RM 137 million. The public has a right to know what Proton’s doubtful debts of RM 137 million are when car purchases are funded by banks and Proton would collect their money once the bank disburses the loan. Any failure to answer would only raise questions about the government’s commitment towards turning Government-linked corporations(GLCs) into global financial champions.
What is more worrying is the increase in inventories which indicate the increasing number of unsold vehicles by Proton. Proton’s inventories had risen 14% to RM1.10 billion as at June 30, 2005 from RM967.08 million on March 31, 2005. Inventories stood at RM821.90 million at the end of FY2004, RM835.5 million FY2003, RM720.2 million FY2002, RM881.7 million FY2001 and RM660.8 million in FY2000.
Proton’s latest model, Savvy had only bookings of some 3,000 units at mid-July, a month after its launch. In contrast, Perodua’s Myvi, got 33,000 bookings in less than a month after its launch. Proton’s market share has fallen to 40 per cent in the first half of 2005, from 43.5 per cent. With such a huge volume of unsold cars, Proton’s revenue can only fall and coupled with rising costs from steel and oil, operating costs can only increase, resulting in  higher net losses.
As Proton’s performance will have a bearing on the performance of the KLSE, the government has a responsibility to be transparent and accountable. The government must quickly announce the country’s national automotive policy to decide how public finances are to be spent to restore the public and investors’ confidence in our capital market. The government must remember that Proton’s cash holdings continue to fall with RM2.12 billion as at June 30 from RM2.45 billion on March 31, 2005, a drop of RM 1.67 billion in 2 years from its  peak of RM3.79 billion as at end-FY2003.
There must a quick replacement for chief executive Tan Sri Tengku Mahaleel Ariff who was terminated last month. Having a major company temporarily run by two joint chief operating officers is neither sensible nor rational. Neither does it builds confidence of the future direction of Proton. The government should get out of its mental trap of insisting that only Malays are qualified to head Proton. If there are any other non-Malay Malaysians who are qualified, then they should be appointed to quickly turn around Proton and prevent it from becoming another loss-making Perwaja scandal that will only drain public funds.

and of course you all remember what happen to MV Agusta yang dijual dengan harga seringgit kpd Gevi Spa kononnya Proton menanggung rugi sebab beli kpd MV Agusta ni oleh itu Proton kena jual, dan pada tahun 2007 one unit from MV Agusta iaitu Husqvarna telah dijual kpd BMW dengan harga 93 juta euro

hmm agak pelik kan ?

please tell me which country that still adopts strict automotive industry protection ?

please dont tell me japan, korea, us still protect their automotive industry

Oh ye can explain aa who is this Gevi Spa yang beli MV Augusta dari Proton dgn harga seringgit tu ? dah lama saya mencari dalangnya

bro. itu faktor u tulis itu ada menyumbang. namun berbanding proton dan pengeluar negara lain yang hampir seusia apa perbezaan? dorang semua move forward. sebaliknya bagi proton still berehat. belum nak cakap pasal service lagi. masa syed zainal jd ceo berapa banyak masa dia habiskan utk betulkan balik. so tak boleh nak salahkan faktor luaran saja bro.

i tak sure sape gevi spa. but now amg is considering buying mv agusta. now dorang ade share around 20% kalau tak silap dlm mv agusta. anyway u beli tanpa buat apa apa sama mcm pembaziran.

pasal protection tu mmg negara u sebut ada protection tapi still sykt mereka tak duduk saja. tgk saja mcm mana kia dan hyundai berubah di bawah peter schreyer

yes. aku berpegang pada kata kata aku. jangan bandingkan masa dulu dan skarang. tgk taraf hidup masyarakat. dulu boleh dikata rakyat bagi sokongan pd proton ataupun dah takde pilihan tapi bila taraf hidup meningkat banyak pilihan utk rakyat. so u boleh expect kenapa proton rugi.....

only by protection the automotive industry could survive pegi la tanya jepun, korea dan US

tanya mereka kenapa sampai sekarang mereka masih protective on their automotive industry

dan tanya juga pada australia apa jadi pada industri local automotive mereka sebaik protection di mansuhkan

automotive industry is lucrative business itu sebab taiko2 industri spt korea, us dan jepun akan sentiasa mengelat demi memastikan industri automotif mereka terus terjaga

other countries should open up their market for them (US, japan, korea) to market their cars but it would be different case for them to open up their market to foreigners

during that protection time la proton buat untung kaw2 sampai boleh bina kilang kat tanjung malim tu dgn cash tanpa pinjaman

and during that time la proton untung sampai net profit sampai beratus juta

masuk je AFTA 2005 tambah lagi dgn polisi automotif yang tah hapa2
