In the next FIVE years, we commit to:
- The rapid expansion of theNorth-South Expressway with more lanes and exit points;
- Building a 2,300km Pan BorneoHighway stretching from Sematan, Sarawak to Serudung, Sabah;
- Extending the East Coast Highwayfrom Kuala Krai - Kota Bahru & Gambang - Segamat;
- Constructing a new West CoastHighway from Banting- Taiping;
- The gradual reduction of intra-citytolls;
- Implementing the 21st CenturyVillage concept to spur rural transformation and bring the rural community intothe mainstream of development;
- Building another 6,300km of pavedroads in Peninsula Malaysia, 2,500km in Sabah and 2,800km in Sarawak to benefitan estimated 3.3 million people;
- Solving the treated water supplyproblem in Selangor, WP & Kelantan;
- Extending the supply of clean waterto another 320,000 homes throughout the country;
- Expanding electricity supply toanother 6,000 homes in the Peninsula, 60,000 in Sabah and 80,000 in Sarawak;
- Compelling service providers toensure quality mobile phone services & reliable wireless access coveragethroughout the country.
Thus far, we have:
- Abolished tolls at Jalan Kuching,Kajang & Cheras;
- Reduced toll rates at Petaling JayaSelatan 2 plaza on the New PantaiExpresswayand at the Sunway & Kemuning plazas on the Kesas Expressway;
- Imposed a 5-year freeze on toll rates at the NSE,NSE Central Link, Linkedua, Butterworth-Kulim Expressway, KL-Karak Expressway& the East Coast Expressway Phase One;
