kalau kat malaysia, law faculty guna gpa system ke? kalau kat uk masa undergrad, dia suma guna final exam results untuk kira markah. dalam masa 3 tahun buat law, biasanya total 12 subjek kena ambik ...

masih gune sistem cgpa lagi...kat uitm for first 3rd year assesment 70% final exam, 30% coursework tapi kalo final year (kat cni kitorang panggil Hons programme) terbalik dah 60% coursework 40% final exam sbb mostly our final year based on practical work...

Bagus jugak final year lebihkan kepada research. At least korang semua belajar macam mana nak buat research  dissertation. Kalau emphasise exam memanjang, nanti semua akan cuma tau buat rote learning aje.

actually yg 60% coursework tu bukan research.. it's more kepada practical work.. buat pleadings, draft contract, conveyancing,  trial practice n procedure (pleadings, bundle of submission + mooting) and ntah apa lagi aku pun tak hingat sgt. huhu...

yang seronoknya belajar law bagi aku:

kau tahu pasal kes-kes yang menarik (biasanya criminal law)
kau diajar untuk berfikiran kritikal. otak kau sentiasa diasah
menaikkan kesedaran sivik kau
your eyes are opened to a whole new realm

buatla law school banyak2 pun, but make sure lecturers & facilities are well equipped...
aku kesian dgn budak law uum, tahun lepas datang uia untuk mooting, 1 hape pun tak tau..
lecturer dia pun bukan practising lawyer...takdela aku nak salahkan uum tu sebab diorang pun baru sangat establish...tapi material, manpower & facilities kena ada...

dulu2 seingat aku time allahyarham tan sri prof. ahmad ibrahim, silibes kat um & uia masa dia jadik dean & syaikh kulliyyah dia rombak sendiri...even dari subjek 1st year sampai 4th year, semua dia bole ajar...dari malaysian legal system, naik ke family law, land law, sebut jela subjek ape pun, semua dah well digested...

tapi skang ni specification lecturer makin berkurang...makin lama makin narrow...kalo phd company, ajar company je, kalo phd consti, ajar consti je...lecturer yg ada master jek serba-serbi semua dia kena ajar....dari probate sampai ke international law, huhu...parah camni

lexis dengan library kalau tak ada masa nak belajar law memang payah gila. aku rasa kalau tak ada facility nak support course law, baik uni tak payah offer course law kalau diorang tak nak invest in law library/lexis. Kesianlah kat student. Aku masa surf website kutpm tengok link untuk bachelor of law programme diorang tak aktif lagi. Aku rasa mungkin diorang baru start course tu.

Aku suka buat kerja macam tu..

hmm.. aku mmg tak suka bidang research yg mcm tu.  kan best kalau aku suka.. bole jadi lecturer. :ting:
kalau research untuk kegunaan kerja (case brief, opinion writing n such) aku suka la..
bcz aku ni malas, suka procrastinate. nanti research tak jalan.
inipun aku rasa aku dah slah pilih line.. bcz sekarang aku byk buat agreement drafting n vetting. same thing everyday, im bored n takder mood!!
aku tak suka.. :geram:  aku malas nak gi opis!!!
aku lagi suka kuar masuk court. it's more exciting. or a mixture of masuk court n duduk ofis, i wudnt mind.
