Sabah police chief to be transferred after sexual harassment allegations surface

KUALA LUMPUR: A district police chief in Sabah will be transferred out soon, following allegations that he sexually harassed six of his men and a member of the People's Volunteer Corps (Rela).
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, who confirmed the matter, said police received complaints relating to the allegations through various channels.
"I think there is some truth regarding the allegation. We are taking action on that officer. I can assure you action will be taken as soon as possible.
"We received reports from various channels ... through police reports and poison-pen letters," he told reporters after participating in a gotong-royong on anti-aedes drive at Bukit Aman police headquarters here today.
He said that among those who were allegedly harassed included police personnel and members of the public.
Local news portals reported that the senior police officer had allegedly sent lewd text messages to his victims and invited them to a hotel room on the pretext of having discussions.
Meanwhile, on another matter Mohamad Fuzi refuted reports that former Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman would be returning home, but the former leader has been advised to do so as soon as possible.
"It is not confirmed that he will come back today. I am not sure when but I believe he will return soon," he said.
A message was circulated on WhatsApp stating that the Sungai Sibuga assemblyman would land in Singapore first before entering Malaysia via the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang or the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). |

The problem with government, sistem nak pecat staf sangatlah susah, walaupun staf tu memang ketara kesalahannya. Ada je la protect diorg. Paling hebat pun transfer ke tempat lain, dan kat sana dia ulang balik perangai sama. Sistem kena ubah la government ni. |
