Spain stroll to comfortable victory

MADRID (AFP) - Spain barely got out of second gear as they comfortably despatched Liechtenstein 4-0 here in a Euro 2008 Group F qualifier.
The hosts were 2-0 to the good by the break as Atletico Madrid forward Fernando Torres latched onto a pass from striker partner David Villa to score on 20 minutes.
Villa doubled the lead just before half-time with a powerful shot that dipped under the bar and the Valencia forward scored again just after the hour mark for his seventh goal in 14 international
Liverpool's Luis Garcia wrapped up the win on 66 minutes, just minutes after replacing Villa.
Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas had only one save to make all match, from substitute Benjamin Fischer on the hour mark.:lol

Real and Real reach partnership agreement

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Real Salt Lake and Real Madrid reached a 10-year agreement that includes the joint training of young players and games between the teams every other year.
Real Salt Lake owner Dave Checketts announced the deal Friday. He has been trying to get an agreement in place since naming his team for the European club two years ago.
Madrid visited Salt Lake City last month and beat the American club 2-0 in an exhibition. Madrid will return to Utah in 2008, when Salt Lake hopes to be in its new stadium in Sandy.
Real Madrid will also help build a soccer academy in Salt Lake City for up to 200 players. Salt Lake will send players each February to train at Madrid's facilities |

Roma captain Francesco Totti tried to convince Real Madrid fullback Cicinho to move to Italy last week, it has been revealed.:ketuk:
Cicinho, who was made available in the final days of the market by Real, is good friends with Roma's Brazilian goalkeeper Doni and spoke with Totti last week about a move to the capital.
Totti grabbed Cicinho's phone number from Doni and immediately discussed the prospect of moving to Roma with the Brazilian. Cicinho was keen, but Roma couldn't match Real's asking before the transfer deadline fell.
Roma wanted to take Cicinho on-loan, but Real refused to baulk from their £6 million assessment. |
