LONDON - Pertembungan antara Arsenal dan Liverpool pada pusingan keempat Piala Liga awal pagi esok mungkin dianggap peristiwa penting dalam kancah bola sepak England.
Namun, pertemuan kedua-dua pasukan itu dilihat lebih menonjolkan kepada prospek masa depan masing-masing berbanding prestasi mereka ketika ini.
Baik pengurus Arsenal, Arsene Wenger mahupun pengendali Liverpool, Rafael Benitez, mereka pastinya akan membuat beberapa perubahan pada aksi di Stadium Emirates itu.
Ia bagi memastikan tonggak utama mereka kekal cergas untuk meneruskan saingan Liga Perdana England dan Liga Juara-Juara.
Pada aksi pusingan ketiga sebelum ini, Arsenal yang menyingkirkan West Brom hanya menyena- raikan dua pemain berpengalaman, Mikael Silvestre dan Philippe Senderos dan bakinya ialah pemain bawah 21 tahun.
Wenger turut berjanji untuk melakukan sedemikian pada perlawanan awal pagi esok.
"Ia berkemungkinan pasukan campuran tetapi kami mahu menang setiap perlawanan, tidak kira siapa yang diturunkan," kata Wenger.
Dengan penjaga gol utama, Manuel Almunia tidak akan beraksi dan penggantinya, Vito Mannone dilihat kurang berkeyakinan, Lukasz Fabianski yang baru pulih daripada pembedahan lutut berkemungkinan mendapat semula peluang menjaga gawang Arsenal.
"Saya mahu berada semula dalam pasukan dan bersaing merebut posisi ini.
"Jadi saya mahu menunjukkan kualiti dan berharap dapat menjulang piala bersama Arse- nal," kata Fabianski. - AFP |
