JaeDuk ngan Toony dh buat collaboration utk jadi producer rookie group SMASH
The former rivals, Sechs Kies’ Kim Jae Duk and H.O.T’s Tony An, have come together for Smash’s comeback.
Though Sechs Kies and H.O.T had an intense rivalry in the 90s, Kim Jae Duk and Tony An, now best friends, are being credited as the joint producers of Smash’s recently-released second mini album, I’ll Protect You.
The group has been produced and maintained by Tony An since 2008 and even performed with Tony An as ‘Tony & Smash’ earlier this year. With the addition of Kim Jae Duk, Smash will have bragging rights in saying it has received the assistance of two first-generation idol group members.
Tony An reached out to Kim Jae Duk to ask for his help on the new mini album. The two worked together on the album’s track selection, vocal, rap, choreography and style as they gave their 10-years expertise and wisdom to the group.
The Smash members expressed their gratitude saying, “They are giving their know-how from their long career, as well as advising and guiding us in our group and individual practices. They are a healing and sturdy base to us.”
Smash released its album on November 8.

H.O.T and Sechskies, the ’1st generation idols’ who were brought back to mind through the drama ‘Reply 1997‘ and swept the hearts of fan girls all across Korea during the 90s, have hinted on their possible comebacks!
H.O.T’s former leader Moon Hee Jun who recently made a comeback with new solo single “Scandal” revealed, “All of the members want to reunite. The only issue is that since all of our agencies are different, we are in a situation where we can’t move based on only our thoughts.”
He also revealed that they had previously set a comeback date in mind, but that it is currently delayed to another date. “Honestly, our comeback date was set for September 7th this year. We were discussing in detail about our comeback last year, but currently it has been delayed. We want Moon Hee Jun, Tony An, Jang Woo Hyuk, Kangta, and Lee Jae Won to reunite and show our charms as H.O.T on stage.”
Sechskies’ Kang Sung Hoon, who had been caught up in several scandals last year, also hinted on his group’s possible comeback as he commented, “I want to show the re-emergence of Sechskies to our fans. After resolving the incidents, I want to repay the faithful fans through promotional activities.”
Sechskies’ representatives clarified Kang Sung Hoon’s statement and confirmed, “It is unknown whether all six members will make a comeback. There are members who completely retired from the entertainment industry and members who honestly don’t have the desire to reunite. However, we will prepare [for a comeback] in the best direction possible to not tarnish the name of Sechskies.”
H.O.T. made their highly successful debut back in 1996 and disbanded in 2001 while rival Sechskies made their debut in 1997 and disbanded in 2000.
Former Sechskies member Ko Ji Yong rumored to be married
Former Sechskies member Ko Ji Yong has been swept up in marriage rumors.
Towards the end of 2012, rumors that the former idol had married a beautiful female doctor started to spread. Fans have even found the hospital she worked in and her name. Fans even congratulated Ko Ji Yong online, causing the rumors to spread even faster.
However, the hospital where the rumored doctor worked recently responded and stated, “We can’t say anything in detail because it’s her own personal matters, but we can say that the doctor in question is not married. She is single right now.”
There has been no further confirmation if Ko Ji Yong is indeed married but fans do know that he isn’t married to the person that they initially thought. However, fans were still happy to hear even a rumor about him, as he had been completely out of the spotlight since the disbandment of Sechskies. Since the breakup, he has been working as a normal company employee.
Yang Hyun Suk opens a restaurant with brother-in-law Sechs Kies’ Lee Jae Jin
It has been revealed that YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk has partnered with brother-in-law Sechs Kies‘ Lee Jae Jin to open a restaurant in a property he owns in Hongdae.
The restaurant chain SCHOOLFOOD confirmed, “A new branch has opened on the second floor of the NB2 building in Hongdae owned by YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk.”
YG Entertainment stated, “We signed with SCHOOLFOOD because their stylish interior and menu items fits YG’s atmosphere and will bring a synergy effect.”
Netizens commented, “Does that mean we can spot many YG artists there?”, “I hope the restaurant does well”, and “Yang Hyun Suk is a noble man who takes care of his brother-in-law.”

Eun Ji Won Releases Solo Album After Two and a Half Years
Singer Eun Ji Won returns after two and a half years.
After releasing “While Buzzed…” in 2010, Eun Ji Won revealed his new digital single entitled “Anyone (feat. Gil Me)” on December 21. For this new track, he worked with Gil Me, whom he used to with in a collaborative project Clover.
In this digital single song “Anyone,” rookie composer team, Upload, brings to life a song that reflects Eun Ji Won’s eccentric and whimsical imaginations. This track will also feature a distinctive progression of the song, as well as the bouncy beat. Gil Me’s reversal charm adds to his refreshing voice, leaving much anticipation.
In the past, Eun Ji Won has made five regular solo albums and also been active as a trio hip-hop group called Clover, creating a unique music mania generation.

Eun Ji Won Officially Announces He Divorced His Ex-Wife in August 2012
On February 28, Eun Ji Won′s agency GYM Entertainment said through an official press release that Eun Ji Won and his wife, Ms. Lee, divorced in August last year with mutual consent.
"They decided to go their separate ways so that they could lead new lives following difficulties in getting along due to differences in personality," it said.
It then emphasized, "We hope not too much attention comes to Ms. Lee so that she can live her normal life even after her divorce has become known."

Moon Hee Jun Calls Eun Ji Won the “Lee Soo Man” of Variety Shows
In a press conference marking the premier of QTV’s new variety show, “Twentieth Century Pretty Boy,” Moon Hee Jun called Eun Ji Won the “Lee Soo Man” of variety shows.
The former H.O.T. member explained, “Even though Eun Ji Won was once the charismatic leader of Sech Kies, he is now a prominent figure in variety shows. Eun Ji Won is like Lee Soo Man to me in the variety industry.”
Lee Soo Man, the founder of SM Entertainment, is a special figure to Moon Hee Jun, as he created the idol group, H.O.T. It seems Moon Hee Jun likened Eun Ji Won to Lee Soo Man as a figure of respect and someone who led the way for Moon Hee Jun to follow.
Moon Hee Jun also confessed that day, “I looked upon Eun Ji Won like a sunflower because he was so charismatic during his Sech Kies days.” He also added that Eun Ji Won is his number one pick as a new H.O.T. member. To this, fellow H.O.T. member Tony Ahn responded, “I also thought Eun Ji Won was handsome. If Eun Ji Won becomes part of H.O.T., Moon Hee Jun will have to leave the group,” bringing laughter to the conference.
“Twentieth Century Pretty Boy” will take the form of a real-variety show featuring various members from the first generation K-Pop idol groups. The panel includes Moon Hee Jun and Tony Ahn of H.O.T., Eun Ji Won from Sech Kies, Danny Ahn from g.o.d., and Chun Myung Hoon from NRG. The show premiers April 16.
