PINDAD OFFICIALLY OPENS NEW LINE OF WEAPON SYSTEMS PRODUCTION FACILITY
PT Pindad (Persero) inaugurated the New Line of Weapon System Production Facilities marked by laser shooting to open the curtain and the signing of the inscription by PT Pindad (Persero) Managing Director, Abraham Mose accompanied by the General Manager of the Weapons Division, Yayat Ruyat in Pindad, Bandung on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. The inauguration was also attended by the board of directors and employees of PT Pindad (Persero).
In his remarks, Abraham Mose expressed his appreciation for the performance of the weapons division for being able to exceed 2019 targets and being able to develop themselves by creating new production lines. Abraham believes, with higher targets from year to year and technological demands can be achieved by Pindad. The presence of the new production line is one of the efforts to realize the Pindad innovation target as an advanced weapon system.
Weapon General Manager, Yayat Ruyat stated that the weapons division was ready to transform as an Advanced Weapon System. Not only the production of hand-held weapons units, but are ready to produce armored combat vehicles. Development is also carried out on the production line through an automation system so that it is very efficient and does not do manual input.
The New Weapon System Production Line located in the Bandung Pindad Weapons Division is an effort to increase the capability and capacity of weapons products, especially for Turret and RCWS (Remote Controlled Weapon Station) products.
There are 7 main products that are designed to be produced on the newly inaugurated production line, namely; 90mm & 105mm Combat Vehicle Turrets, UAV (Unnmanned Aerial Vehicles), Mortar Mechatronics, Optic & Optronics, UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicles), Rocket / Missile Launcher & FCS, and RCWS (Remote Controlled Weapon Station).
One of the products to be produced, namely 90mm and 105mm turrets is the main product especially to support the development of Pindad production, especially for Harimau Medium Tank products. Turret is one of the main parts of a combat vehicle that functions as a firing mechanism.
Indonesia looks to strengthen defense ties with Turkey
urkey and Indonesia are working on several defense projects, including an armored personnel carrier and remotely steered weapons systems, an official from Indonesia’s state-owned defense manufacturer PT Pindad has said.
PT Pindad innovation and product development manager, Windu Paramarta, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the KAPLAN MT tanks – jointly developed by Turkey’s FNSS Defense Industries Company and PT Pindad – have advanced to the production phase. He added that 18 tanks will be manufactured in the next two years for Indonesian armed forces.
The KAPLAN MT is powered by a power pack located at the rear of the vehicle, which delivers a power-to-weight ratio of about 20 horsepower per ton. The engine transfers this power to the driving system, which has a six-wheel, anti-shock suspension system with double-pinned tracks mounted on torsion bars.
The tank-class vehicle brings together state-of-the-art modern technology platforms with superior firepower, supported by battlefield management systems and laser warning systems, providing tactical support to the commander.
Firepower is provided by a CMI Cockerill 3105 turret, integrated with a high-pressure 105-millimeter Cockerill gun and an advanced autoloader. Thanks to the turret, the KAPLAN MT has high firepower despite its relatively low weight.
Noting that two countries are currently working on the development of armored personnel carriers and remotely steered weapons systems, Paramarta said preliminary meetings were also underway for the prototype of carrier project. Process for other projects including design of remote weapons systems are expected to be completed this year, he added.
Upgrade Seluruh Jet Tempur F-16 Ditargetkan Rampung pada 2024
Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara Marsekal TNI Yuyu Sutisna memastikan bahwa proses upgrade pesawat tempur F-16 ditargetkan rampung pada 2024 mendatang. Ini sesuai perencanaan jangka pendek dan panjang di tubuh TNI Angkatan Udara.
“Harapannya, seluruh F-16 setara dengan yang dimiliki negara lain,” kata dia usai menyaksikan uji terbang satu pesawat F-16 A/B Block 12 yang di Skadron Udara 3 Lanud Iswahjudi, Magetan, Selasa (18/2).
1. Proyek EMLU-Falcon STAR telah berjalan sejak 2017
Saat ini, pesawat F-16 Indonesia masih perlu ditingkatkan. Oleh karena itu, proyek Enhanced Mid-Life Update (EMLU) –The Falcon Structural Augmentation Rodmap (Falcon STAR) telah berjalan sejak September 2017.
Sebanyak empat jet tempur F-16 A / B berusia 30 tahun memasuki Teknin 042 Skuadron Iswahjudi AFB hanggar akan ditingkatkan. Salah satunya telah sepenuhnya diperbarui dan penerbangan diuji.
2. Empat pilot akan dididik ke Amerika Serikat
Yuyu mengatakan, sebanyak empat pilot segera dikirim ke Amerika Serikat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengoperasikan jet tempur setelah ditingkatkan. Setelah periode pendidikan yang memadai, pilot akan kembali ke Indonesia.
"Kembali ke sini akan menerbangkan pesawat yang tadinya (diuji untuk penerbangan)," katanya.
3. Total 33 Jet F-16 perlu ditingkatkan
Upaya ini dalam persiapan untuk melakukan uji penerbangan sendiri setelah proses pembaruan pesawat F-16 diselesaikan oleh teknisi Angkatan Udara.
Dalam proyek tersebut, ada 10 pesawat F / 16 A / B yang akan diperbarui. Banyak jet yang dibeli melalui program 'Peace Bima Sena' pada tahun 1989. Selain itu, jet tempur 23 F-16 C / D juga akan ditingkatkan. Jadi, ada total 33 F-16 yang dimiliki oleh Indonesia, yang teknologi dan kapabilitasnya diremajakan dengan kebutuhan terbaru.
