Jake Cuenca is one of Bea Alonzo's choices as "Betty La Fea" leading man
TEAM-UP WITH BEA. Halata namang nagliwanag ang mukha ni Jake nang hingan namin siya ng reaction sa naging pahayag ni Bea Alonzo na other than her perennial leading man John Lloyd Cruz, si Jake ang isa sa gustong makatambal ng young actress para sa pagbibidahan nitong Betty La Fea.
"Of course, sobrang flattered ako," nakangiting sabi ni Jake. "I mean, yung mahanay lang yung pangalan ko sa mga nabanggit pa niya條ike Gabby Concepcion, Aga Muhlach, Diether Ocampo梥a akin, parang, 慦ow, thank you.' Nakaka-flatter yung tiwala kung sakali."
Dugtong ni Jake, kalabisan naman daw itanong pa sa kanya kung isa rin ba si Bea sa pinapangarap niyang maging leading lady. Bago pa man daw kaszi siya maging isang Kapamilya, isa na talaga si Bea sa wini-wish niyang makatrabaho.
"Alam n'yo, kahit noon pa, isa na si Bea sa hinahangaan ko sa ABS-CBN, kahit yung first teleserye pa lang nila ni John Lloyd [Cruz]. Siyempre bilang artista, isang malaking opportunity yung makatrabaho ko rin yung iba't ibang lead actresses ng network," pahayag niya.
Sa pagkakaalam ng PEP, may pelikula talagang pagsasamahan sina Bea at Jake sa Star Cinema na may pagka-suspense ang tema. Pero nang tanungin namin si Jake tungkol dito, sinabi ng young actor na posibleng may mga pagbabago pa raw at hindi pa niya masabi kung kailan sila magsisimula. Pero siyempre, wish ng young actor na matuloy ito.

RUFFA GUTIERREZ PLAYS DANIELLA IN "BETTY LA FEA"!
RUFFA Gutierrez has been chosen to play Daniella in the Philippine version of Betty La Fea. Si Ruffa ang kauna-unahang malaking artista na nai-cast sa much-awaited teleserye. The role was discussed by the management of ABS-CBN with Ruffa who was accompanied by her mom Annabelle Rama.
A couple of weeks ago, we overheard Ruffa talking to The Buzz staff about the offer. She sounded pretty excited. And now, she is taking on the role.
Come June, Ruffa along with the cast will start taping. So far, Ruffa is busy with her hosting job in The Buzz every Sunday. She was last seen in the hit teleserye Kokey.
Looks like Betty La Fea is becoming an ambitious project of ABS-CBN. Let's wait who is the next big star joining the cast. -showbuzzer-

Anne Curtis overwhelmed by 'wife material' tag

Actress Anne Curtis is simply overwhelmed by the statement of her suitor, actor Sam Milby, that she is "wife material."
Milby抯 statement was published on abs-cbnNEWS.com Tuesday, May 27 after his 24th post-birthday celebration.
Curtis couldn抰 hide her happiness with Milby抯 sweet words. Aside from calling her "wife material," Milby also described her as a "gorgeous woman, inside and out."
"Wow! Really now! That抯 very flattering, wow!" she said.
Curtis also confirmed Milby抯 statement that she loves kids, and she wants to be a teacher someday, perhaps, after she leaves showbiz.
"That抯 definitely something that I want to do siguro pagkatapos ng showbiz. Babalik ako sa pag-aaral, I will take up early education, at hopefully, kung may pera ako, put up a kindergarten and be a pre-school teacher," the actress said.
When asked if Milby is a husband material, Curtis said: "I would say so. Sam kasi is such a humble person, sa sobrang bait niya. Hindi niya na alam na mabait na siya masyado. He is very sweet, caring, thoughtful, gentleman, God-fearing lahat na yata na doon."
Curtis also confirmed that Milby is now getting along well with her mom, Carmen. There were reports that said Curtis' mom prefers actor-host Luis Manzano to be her daughter's boyfriend.
"Dinalhan niya ng cake. All is well na. I抦 very happy and hindi naman sa inayawan niya. She just didn抰 know him. Mas kilala lang niya talaga si Manzano."
The actress added she抯 happy with her upcoming television series, "Dyosa", since it will give her more time to be with Milby. Milby is one of her leading men in the series.
"It抯 a blessing na iyong work namin ngayon, magkasama kami. Dati, kapag naga-out of the country siya, ako, kakabalik ko lang. Buti na lang ngayon, we have a show together."
Curtis is now busy taping for "Dyosa."
"It is a lot of work, but I have to say, among the cast siguro, I抦 the easiest. Mas mahirap pa iyong kay Sam and Manzano. He will have a whole body suit. It抯 hard kasi, it takes you around two-and-a-half hours for the make-up, wig at ngayon, nangangapa pa kami with the costumes."
Curtis said "Dyosa" is about a myth that turns into reality.
"It is so much fun kasi makikita niyo how it is a fantaserye, how it is catered to the youth. Makikita niyo because of the story lines, the outfits, they are so colorful. Really fantaserye na it抯 something that I抦 super enjoying."
Curtis, like other professional artists, said she enjoys playing the characters in the series. In "Dyosa," she is the goddess of land, air and water.

SAM MILBY CELEBRATES 24th BIRTHDAY, TALKS ON ANNE CURTIS

Young actor Sam Milby said he is happy with the state of his life as he celebrated his 24th birthday.
When asked what his birthday wish was, Milby replied, "Ang birthday wish ko actually wala, masaya ako sa lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay ko. Siyempre gusto kong makita ang pamilya ko nang mas madalas. Gusto ko laging masaya ang pamilya ko," Milby told abs-cbnNEWS.com.
The heartthrob admitted that he would like to buy a gift for himself.
"Sa birthday gift ko, gusto kong ipagbili iyong kotse ko at bumili ng bagong kotse."
Plans for the future
The actor said he still has aspirations he hopes to fulfill.
"I want to go back to college, I wanna take up psychology pero hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko, kasi parang ngayon I抦 getting into a little business," Milby said.
He also wants to become a better artist. "Improvement lang sa lahat ng kailangan, sa craft sa Tagalog, sa singing, sa performance, sa lahat gusto kong mag-improve."
Milby also shared that as a birthday gift, his rumored girlfriend, actress Anne Curtis gave him an XBox 360.
As Milby turned 24, he said that one of the best birthday gifts he received was the retraction and apology that brought about the settlement of the libel case against columnist-host Lolit Solis. Milby is now happy that everything ended well.
"Siyempre relieving. Siyempre we didn抰 want to go on with the case, so just happy I mean it抯 over. It didn抰 go any further," Milby said.
His relationship with Anne's mom
Milby also denied reports that he felt bad that Curtis' mother would prefer actor-host Luis Manzano to be her daughter's boyfriend. He also denied reports that he and Curtis' mother don抰 get along well.
"We do get along very well, pero we haven抰 had time to know each other na ganyan. Iyong report na lumabas na iyong preference niya ay si Luis it抯 more na mas kilala niya si Luis kaysa sa akin.
"Kasi iyong first time na nagkakilala kami ay Christmas lang. This is the second time actually na we got to see each other. I抦 sure na in time na we will get to know each other a lot more," he said.
Last Friday, May 23rd, was Milby's actual birthday. He did a show in Melbourne, Australia where Curtis' mother is based. She showed up on stage and gave him a lot of gifts.
"I was so happy nanood siya ng concert namin ni Piolo... she came out on stage and said her birthday wish for me. She brought the cake tapos ang daming gifts na binigay like my tie, my shirt and my wine."
Milby extended his thanks to the mother of his "soul mate."
"Tita Carmen, thank you so much for coming to watch the concert. Thank you sa gifts niyo po at sana later this year I will see you again and don抰 forget to text."
Sam and Anne
Milby is now busy preparing for his latest series entitled "Dyosa" with Anne Curtis.
He said that right now he can not say with finality that Curtis is the woman destined for him.
"Well siyempre you will never know kung "the one" pala, but I mean magkakaroon ng time na you know she抯 the only woman that you are interested in, that I want to be with you."
When asked if Curtis is wife material for him, Milby said, "Yes. Iyong trabaho na gusto niyang gawin pagkatapos ng showbiz na mag-preschool teacher, she loves kids talaga, she loves kids."
Presently, Milby and Curtis are still in the courting stage.
"Everything was going great with our courtship, pero parang we both felt na God is telling us na it抯 not the right time pa, na we need to concentrate on God muna, so iyon ang nangyari. We do go on dates, watch movies together," he said.
Milby has high praises for Curtis. "She抯, wow... she抯 gorgeous beautiful inside and out."
Sam's career on the upswing
Sam started his career when he joined the first ever season of Pinoy Big Brother. He starred in ABS-CBN's Book 2 of "Maging Sino Ka Man," and Star Cinema's "My Big Love."
This early in his career he already received various recognitions such as 2005 Most Promising Male Singer, 2006 Prince of Philippine Movies by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Foundation, Best New Male Artist in the 19th Annual Aliw Awards, Best New Male TV personality by the Philippine Movie Press Club in the 20th Star Awards for Television and one of the ten Most Well-Liked Male TV personalities by the South East Asian Anak TV Seal.
Aside from various commercials he is also busy doing concerts here and abroad. He will also have his first solo concert in September at the Aliw Theater.
