Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to a son. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel welcomed their 2nd child today at 20:28 on March 2, 2016 at Karolinska hospital in Stockholm. Weight: 3655 gram, Length: 52 cm. Both mother and child are in good health. Prince Daniel was present at the hospital throughout the birth. Prince Daniel also met with media at the hospital and told around 30 journalists and photographers about the great news and their happiness.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden gave birth to a boy. On the occasion of that birth, a cabinet meeting was held at the Royal Palace on March 3. King Gustaf stated that the name given to the Prince is Oscar Carl Olof and informed the cabinet that the Prince has been appointed as the Duke of Scania.

New photos of Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle of Sweden taken with newborn Prince Oscar Carl Olof were published. Crown Princess Victoria shared the message "Thanks very much for all greetings, good wishes and congratulations received connected with the birthday of Princess Estelle and the birth of Prince Oscar. We thank you for sharing our joys and worries with us.".

In the previous days, a photo of Princess Estelle taken with her little brother Prince Oscar was published. The dress worn by Princess Estelle is an old dress of her mother Crown Princess Victoria. That dress was on Crown Princess Victoria at the "Te Deum" service held shortly after Princess Madeleine was born in 1982.

The preference of Crown Princess Victoria to have her daughter Estelle wear her old clothes is not for the first time, she had that preference numerous times before.
