some feedback about carmen soo in Filipina
carmen soo is still a new face in Philippine television since KIS have just started. But on its 3 weeks of airing, she gained and still collecting lots of fans and supporters. There are many foreign celebrities who graced our television before, but very few of them were being supported and loved. ANd with carmen soo, considering having only one project here in our country(at least for now) , and to get as many supporters as she have right now, i can say that she isnt just one of the many who "come and go", but one of the very few who will be loved and admired and will stay in our heart. (and hopefully in our country for good)
and if ever she doesnt get famous in Malaysia, which is impossible considering how beautiful, nice and talented she is, WE Filipinos are more than willing to adopt her. I envy malaysians becoz they have a "CARMEN SOO", but thank you Malaysians for CARMEN SOO.
~proud of her coz filipinos love their dramas and their very hard to please but Carmen Soo didnt only pleased the fans they took her into their heart~

Carmen Soo beginning to dig local showbiz

While other Asian stars slipped into the Pinoy consciousness via popular Asianovelas, Malaysian actress-model Carmen Soo took the road less traveled.
Filipinos were made aware of her existence when she was accused of being the third party in the Jericho Rosales-Heart Evangelista split-up.
This was something that shocked Carmen. Being the center of a showbiz storm is something new to the 31-year old former fashion model and now Petit Monde endorser. She said in a previous interview, "I’m not guilty [of causing the breakup]. I learned about the break-up more than a month after it happened. If the rumor was true, we would probably be together by now. Jericho is a good friend and a good actor, but not a good tour guide."
Apparently, this wasn’t enough. It took time and more of Carmen either via "Kahit Isang Saglit" or taking all kinds of questions from the local media before Carmen began to get how the Pinoy showbiz world worked. In turn, Pinoys started getting Carmen and during the latest press conference launching her as the newest face of Petit Monde held recently at Annabel’s Tomas Morato, Carmen was no longer the other girl but the leading lady with her own spotlight.
"I’m still getting the hang of it because I did not know it’s like this here," Carmen said when asked of another issue. This time, she was being linked with John Lloyd Cruz. The two were said to have been seen together lunching out in posh mall in Quezon City. As most people probably know, John Lloyd is dating stylist Liz Uy, a fact that gives Carmen déjà vu.
But Carmen explained that it was purely incidental that she hooked up with John Lloyd. "I texted a friend who was with John Lloyd and told her that I’m leaving in a few days and since we were both (my friend and I) in Trinoma, we decided to meet up. She said if it’s okay that she’s with John Lloyd and I said ok."
This time, it wasn’t hard for Carmen to prove that she’s in no way going to be suspected of being a third wheel again. She soon met John Lloyd’s girlfriend Liz, who happened to be her stylist for the Petit Monde pictorial and it was John Lloyd’s girlfriend herself who assured Carmen that whatever was written about Carmen and John Lloyd being together is just showbiz being showbiz, nothing more.
"It was nice of her to tell me that. Hopefully, I’m starting to get used to how it is here. I love being in the Philippines and I’m very grateful to everyone supporting ‘Kahit Isang Saglit.’ What will happen in the series in the coming days will be very interesting," Carmen said.
INVADING THE LOCAL FASHION SCENE
Carmen now joins other celebrities (Sunshine Cruz, Jodi Sta. Maria and Chesca Garcia) under Petit Monde.
Carmen told the media of her latest fashion find, "I’m so happy to be part of Petit Monde’s growing family. It’s really an honor to be in the company of these girls (Sunshine, Jodi and Chesca)."
The Malaysian superstar went to Manila last week only for the pictorial and a tour of Petit Monde stores. She shared, "I was toured around their stores and saw how nice the clothes are. They’re bright, sunny, sweet, sexy and just a little flirty, and I fell in love with them right away."
Carmen continued, "I love to design and experiment with my style and the brand allows me to do much...experimenting." |

Malaysian-Chinese actress Carmen Soo is slowly making her own spot inlocal showbiz. Aside from the television series Kahit Isang Saglit, herlocal fans will see her on posters and billboards of Petit Monde soon.
The foreign actress and model returned from her short trip to Malaysialast week, November 18, in time for the photo shoot of Petit Monde'snewest ad campaign for the Holiday season. For this campaign, saidCarmen, the company will have materials for magazines, newspapers, andother print ads.
During the shoot, the onlookers said that the Malaysian modellooked classy in the dresses she wore, which complimented her charmingface. Although she had no idea about the dresses of Petit Monde, Carmenmanaged to project its goal for its target market—sweet yet daring,classy yet adventurous.
Carmen entered the modeling industry at age 17. Before PetitMonde, she had already endorsed known products such as Ponds, Panteneand the luxury watch Longines.
To be able to project the clothing brand well, the professionalactress-model did a quick visit to the brand's stores and checked outthe clothing before the photo shoot.
"I want to understand what Petit Monde stands for, what theessence of Petit Monde," related Carmen. "I spoke to the owners and bygetting it better, understanding of it, I want to project, you know,the many type of a person."
Then, she talked about how much she liked the clothes because it'sstylish and at the same time comfortable, which the actress looks forin every dress she wears.
"Basically, easy dressing," described Carmen. "You do not have tothink too much because with dress you can go. I want to project thatwhen I shoot, and they wanna really nice sunny, sweet, easy going,shoot so that's really [what I] want try to project as well."
She also added, "The best thing that I love about it is that it fits me well, best of all."
COMFORT AND STYLISH. Talking more about her preferred dresses, Carmen continued describing the clothes she wore during the photo shoot.
"It's easy to pick a dress out and you can put a jacket, and looka professional. You can wear this with sandals, you know, it's a casualdress, you can put a heels and you're ready to go out, you know, fordinner, to party.
"I think it's easy and I think they had a good combinationcomfort, cut and style, and the fabric are comfortable. Because I don'tlike clothes that might fall off you easily, it fits well and good andcomfortable." |
