Quite disappointed album from Alicia this time. Seriously. Both her previous albums are so much better compared to this one. Most songs from this album x leh bape masuk, except a few. Alicia change her music too much like old school R&B, and nothing single worthy here. |

Aku penah beli 2 album Alicia Keys sblm nie (kaset jer tapi). So kali nie aku tak tau nak beli ker tak... sbb aku mmg sentiasa beli album artis yg aku rasa worth it utk aku beli.
So here's My review:
As I Am (Intro):
Intro yang biasa2 jer... cuma mainan piano tu mmg best lah. Alicia Keys mmg pianist yg talented.
Go Ahead:
Lagu nie ala2 Angie Stone punya lagu. Upbeat and a bit funky & groovy. Not a bad song, but certainly not the best. 
Superwoman:
Oh.. this song is one of her best. Quite a motivational song. 
No One:
Need I say more? See my signature lah... 
Like You'll Never See Me Again:
A very delicate, romantic, soulful, flourish, watery, sexy and full-of-R&B-flavour song.
Lesson Learned (feat. John Mayer):
A ballad song... very soulful, but John Mayer sucks. Rating for this song declined because of him.
Wreckless Love:
A groovy and midtempo song. Not bad, but not that friendly to my ears.
The Thing About Love:
A ballad again... but this song will stick to my ears if I listen more and more.
Teenage Love Affair:
Wow... one of the best song in this album. Very funky and groovy. Few more spins will stick to my head. 
I Need You:
Ingatkan lagu slow.... tapi quite a midtempo song lah. Quite a groovy song. Ada sikit elemen acid jazz lah.
Where Do We Go From Here:
A midtempo song. Lagu yg boleh aku kategorikan sbg alternative R&B... kerana muziknya sangat experimental and different!
Prelude To A Kiss:
What an average song. Will easily bore you. Lagu yg paling tak best lar aku rasa. 
Tell You Something (Nana's Reprise):
Lagu nie one of the best. Aku taknak dengar sangat takut nanti aku addicted pulak (macam lagu No One tu.. hehe).
Sure Looks Good To Me:
A very beautifully-crafted R&B song. But not one of the best. AK better wrap up the album with something better than this.
OVERALL:
What I like about this album is... AK mmg sangat bereksperimentasi dgn muzik R&B. Samalah seperti yg apa dia kata, "this album is edgy, raw, fresh and you'll never listen to anything like it before." Sounds promising, so do I... I did expect this album to have a very unique feel of R&B/soul to it... and AK has proven it. From vintage piano playing to something alternative and groovy, AK really diversified her version of R&B making her a very unique R&B singer... not like any other (can u show me any pianist-cum-R&B singer around?) However, this album lacks energy and kick-ass songs like one in "The Diary Of Alicia Keys" (I really like this album, but it was too radio-friendly album). I am glad AK didn't collaborate with any rappers in this song, I prefer she stays that way. It's not that I don't like rappers, but AK's music will sound strange if we combine it with hip-hop flavour. Luckily this album has NO hip-hop influenced song, at all, as always.
Last but not least... I'm really proud of AK. This album might not be radio-friendly like before, but I like the new and fresh music she puts in it. I didn't regret when I purchased this song for RM3.50 just for my caller ringtone. Haha. Rating? I think.... should be OK.

Actually aku teringin sangat nak tengok Alicia Keys collaborate dgn Miri Ben-Ari (hip-hop violinist). Dua2 mmg talented musician... dan R&B/hip-hop/soul background. Mgkin in the future AK boleh consider collaborate lah.. sbb AK pun byk buat lagu guna violin. |

This week Alicia's album shot straight to the number one with sales of 742,000 copies first week!!! Those are the biggest opening numbers for a female since 2004 when Norah Jones sold a million first week with 'Feels Like Home'!! Alicia has the 2nd biggest first week sales of the year trailing behind only Kanye West (950k), and topping albums by such acts as The Eagles (711k), 50 Cent (631k), Jay-Z (428k) Avril Lavigne (288k), Kelly Clarkson (300k), T.I. (468k) Tim McGraw (325k), and Maroon 5 (429k). She also managed to top the two Disney releases of the year, Hannah Montana 2 (330k) and High School Musical 2 (615k)

album ni dah 3MILLION copy sold di US hanya 8 minggu...memang meletop..
i am really love AS I AM sampaikan aku dah beli 1 lagi CD dan nak simpan jer...taknak ada scratch dan sebagainya..album TDOAK pun aku ada 2.. |
