ANEKA RESEPI SCONE

i found one recipe yang nampak cam mudah nak buat..tapi i pun tak try lagi...

Basic Scone Recipe:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup milk (approx.)
Mix the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles course crumbs. Stir in the egg. (If you are using one of the variations below, this is a good point to add nuts, dried fruit, chocolate chips, cheese, etc.) Gradually add the milk until a thick dough is formed. (It may take more or less than 3/4 cup.) Turn out the mixture onto a floured board and knead lightly. Roll out the dough to 3/4" thickness and cut into rounds with a 2" cookie cutter. Gather the trimmings and lightly knead, roll, and cut them as well. Place the rounds about 1" apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Brush the tops with a little beaten egg or milk. Bake in a preheated 450

scones selalunya dimakan dgn clotted cream. Tu traditional English way of eating scones lah. Lain rasanya bila makan dgn clotted cream compared to makan dgn regular cream.

SCONES
Preparation time : 25 minutes
Cooking time : 12 minutes
Makes 12
Cookery rating : Easy!


Ingredients :

2 cups self-raising flour
pinch of salt
30 g butter ~ cut into small pieces
(I used margarine)
1/2 cup fresh milk
1/2 cup water



Method :

1. Preheat oven to very hot (220 C)
(I preheated mine at 180 C)
2. Sift flour and salt together into a large bowl. Add butter and rub in lightly using fingertips.
3. Combine milk and water.
4. Make a well in the centre of the flour. Pour in liquid all at once, reserving about a teaspoon for glazing. Mix quickly to a soft dough.
5. Turn onto a floured board (use self-raising flour). Knead lightly. Press or roll out to form a round about 2 cm thick.
6. Cut using a floured plain round cutter or cut into triangles using a floured knife. Place on a greased oven tray and glaze with milk.
7. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until scones sound hollow when tapped.
8. Cool on wire rack. Serve with jam and cream.

Note :
Salt is optional. However, it does enhance the flavour of the scones.

Wa!!! bestnya. Ramai gaks minat scone ni rupanya. Saya pernah buat sekali. Masa tu teringin lepas terdengar member makan kat Bukit Freaser. Cari resepi kat Internet pastu tu test. Pastu tak berapa jadi. Pastu tak abis, simpan sampai berkulat scone tu

Nak cuba resepi yang kat sini pulak lah!

suka la scones sbb nak kata biskut...bukan biskut...nak kata roti ...bukan roti...

last wk, maklang try buat scone..maklang pun tak pernah buat dan tak pernah rasa pun scone..teruja pulak nak cuba resepi yg simple nih...scone ni dalamnya lembut...dimakan bersama dengan jem...gamba nanti mklang letak kemudian, photobucket mengong tak sudah2...




TRADITIONAL SWEET SCONES - Jeni
Sumber omplete Baking by  Martha Day

Bahan-bahan
170 g tepung
2 sudu besar gula
3 sudu teh baking powder
1/8 sudu teh garam
5 sudu besar mentega sejuk, dipotong2
125 ml susu segar
Cara membuatnya
1.        Panaskan oven pada kepanasan 425F/220C. Griskan kertas lapik loyang.
2.        Ayak tepung, gula, baking powder dan garang ke dalam mangkuk.
3.        Masukkan mentega ke dalam campuran tepung. Hancurkan mentega dengan garpu sehingga campuran menjadi seperti crumb.
4.        Tuang susu dan uli sehingga dapat soft doh.
5.        Gelek doh sehingga setebal 1/2 cm.
6.        Tekan acuan ke atas doh.
7.        Susun ke atas loyang pembakar dan bakar selama 12 minit atau sehingga scone bertukar warna kuning keemasan.

Dah lama tak buat scones.  Weekend ni nak buat lah kot - untuk breakfast sebelum pegi sekolah.  

Sedap makan scones panas-panas dengan whipped cream.

Jangan makan banyak.  Seketul dua scones tak ada effect kat your body weight.  

But for the rest of the day jangan makan carbs.  Just eat fruits, vege and protein.  

Life is sweet.
