More doctors lodge reports of sexual abuse

PETALING JAYA: More victims, including housemen, have come forward to lodge complaints of sexual abuse at hospitals, said the Health Ministry.
This follows The Star’s front page expose of a sex predator in a Klang Valley hospital.
It has also been decided at a meeting on Monday that an independent inquiry body would be set up to look into the matter, with representatives from the Health Ministry, Women, Family and Community Development Ministry and other relevant government agencies.
The Health Ministry in a statement urges all victims who face abuse or harassment of any form at the hospital workplace to file a direct report to Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad at [email protected]
On Sunday (July 29), The Star reported cases involving sexual harassment and bullying of housemen by an orthopaedics department head in a hospital in the Klang Valley.
