ince the time of its inception, Padmavati has been the centre of controversies. The movie has been in trouble waters ever since it was announced with two vandalism incidences already reported.
In a recent interview with Filmfare magazine, when Ranveer was asked about the same, he shared that he does have strong opinion about the incidents, but has been requested to not voice it. He said, “I do have strong opinions on this subject, which I wish to express. But I’ve been requested by the team to not voice it to avoid further hurdles. I channelled the angst into my performance. These are issues none of us anticipated. It’s unfortunate.”
The Bajirao Mastani star also added that it was really difficult to hear about such things happening on the sets and then go back to work next morning. “Apart from all these external issues, I knew this whole process would be ball-busting. I was ready for the testing times. Sometimes, it’s difficult to pick yourself up and go back to work next morning because it’s so draining. It takes a toll on your physical and mental health. But it’s all for a greater purpose. These films are for posterity,” noted Ranveer.
This is Ranveer’s third movie with Bhansali after Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani. Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maha Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.

Said the designers, “Shahid’s look is very rich and ornate, befitting the character of the Rajput king that he is portraying. There is a lot of drama at play with the rich textiles, the traditional Rajasthani embroideries, the various layers to each look and the wide sweeping angrakhas that were created. To translate it into real life, you can go for one particular element from the look and build on it.”

His upcoming film Padmavati is facing opposition from many quarters in the country, but actor Shahid Kapoor has urged the people to first watch the movie without harbouring any preconceived notions.
Several outfits in Noida protested against the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film yesterday and appealed to the masses not to watch the movie, due to release on December 1.
Addressing the issue, Shahid, who plays Maharawal Ratan Singh in the film, told the reporters last night, “I’ve been saying this since a long time. Watch the film and then decide. Give the film a chance and don’t form preconceived notions. We have tried to keep everyone’s feelings and interests in mind.
“We have tried to make film as best as we could. We will respect whatever people think of the film but you should see it first.”
The period drama features stars Deepika Padukone in the title role of Rani Padmavati, the Rajput queen and consort of Ratan Singh.
Actor Ranveer Singh will be seen as Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi sultan.
Recently, the Supreme Court refused to entertain a plea seeking a stay on the release of Padmavati and said the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) considers all aspects before granting certificate to any film.
Shahid said the entire team is proud of the movie and is overwhelmed the way it has received support from the industry.
“The whole team is proud of the film. I think it’s going to be a special cinematic experience, something which I hope the entire fraternity will be proud of. The response I have received after the trailer (released)… Genuinely the whole fraternity has come together to support the film.
“When something so beautiful is coming, they don’t think like ‘oh it’s not ours, it’s theirs’. Sometimes the trailer or the film is so nice that everyone comes out and says great we have a film like this here. I got a response like that,” he said.
The actor was speaking at GQ Fashion Nights, where he walked the ramp for designer Gaurav Gupta. His co-star Deepika was also present at the event.
While Deepika remained mum on Padmavati being in the line of fire, the actor said the team cannot wait for the people to watch the film.
“We are glad that people have liked the new song (‘Ek Dil Ek Jaan’). It is my favourite song and I am happy everyone liked it, be it the chemistry or the visualisation. I think we are equally excited for the release of the film. It’s going to be special,” she said.
Actress Deepika Padukone says that she can’t wait for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial Padmavati to release.
She graced the Van Heusen and GQ Fashion Nights here in Mumbai and during the media interaction, the actress said: “I will only say that the love we all are getting, whether it is for posters or trailer or song. I think we all are very excited and overwhelmed by the response and we can’t wait to share this film with everyone.”
“It has been an incredible journey and we are literally counting the days. We can’t wait for the film to release and we can’t wait to share this experience with everyone,” added the actress.
Padmavati is caught in the eye of the storm with Karni Sena and other caste and religious bodies protesting against the film.
Last week, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali released a video clarifying about the rumoured dream sequences in the film, but protests continue to grow and Deepika says she has nothing to comment about that.
“I will not say anything,” said Deepika about the Padmavati controversy.
Post Ghoomar, makers recently released the second song Ek Dil Ek Jaan from the film and it went viral.
Deepika says that the film is going to be special.
“We are very happy that everyone appreciated the song so much and this is one of my favourite songs. I am very happy that everyone liked the song. I think we are equally excited about the release of the film and it is going to be special,” added Deepika.

Full ost dh kluar. Not bad. Maybe a bit better than Bajirao Mastani OST except few songs yg mmg meols xleh hadam.
