The Hong Kong premiere of Seven Swords was held the evening before. Before this, Leon had already watched the film at Changsha premiere. He felt that the movie was very good. Asked whether this would increase his confidence in filming wuxia films? He said, "Because of my appearance, I can't forcefully make people feel that I could fight very well, but actually I have learnt martial arts before when I was young." About attending the movie premieres in Mainland China, Leon said, "It was really hot, about 40 degree celsius, until all my pimples pop out." About reports saying that he was acting like some big shot in mainland, Leon said, "Don't need to care. The most important thing in filming movies is to do your own part well. All the arrangements are agreeable by both parties, there's no need for discussion on this topic."
About reports saying Leon was acting like a big shot in Changsha premiere, Charlie Young said, "I don't feel that he was acting like a big shot. He was very caring of us, the whole group of actors/actresses. There were many sudden circumstances in Mainland and he smoothen out many of them, and brought many happiness to everyone." |

Leon's golden quote about love in 2005: "I will make it known to the public if I get married, but I will definitely keep it a secret if I have a girlfriend." As it is still not time for marriage, Leon did not answer any questions about his rumoured relationships. He only exposed another new love, "Between May and July, I had 2 months of love marathon with Jonathan Lee!"
Leon had a love marathon with the divorced Jonathan Lee? When Leon said this, all were shocked, "Leon, you changed your gender?" Leon laughed, "We only had a love relationship on music!"
Leon said, Jonathan Lee only liked to tell him stories. After his divorce with Sandy Lam, Jonathan Lee made the feeling of a divorced man into lyrics and told Leon all about the painful feelings after a divorce. By telling the stories, he let Leon understand the feelings of a sad man.
The night before, when Leon played his new songs at the hotel he stayed, "Wow, Leon, your singing accent is very similar to Jonathan Lee, why don't you change your name to Jonathan Lai?" After being in the showbiz for these years, Leon understood that "Love is a personal thing. There is no need to share with others." When he gets married, he will definitely let it be known. Leslie 'ada hati' kat Leon Lai??!!!
In January, Leslie was invited by TVB to hand out the Jade Solid Gold 'most welcomed singer' award. Leslie said that he had hoped to hand out the award to Leon Lai Ming. That night, the winner was indeed Leon Lai, and Leslie got the chance to give the award to him. Leslie had always secretly supported Leon. One day, Leon's assistant who also happened to be Leslie's assistant at the time, told him that a fashion store sales girl had been disrespectful to Leon - when he bought one of the two similar styled suits from the shop. Leon had pleaded for the sales girl to not sell the other suit to any other artist, as he was worried about being seen wearing the same clothes as another artist at the same occasion. But the shop assistant had responded to him rudely, stating that the shop would sell the suit to any buyer who wanted it. On hearing this, Leslie immediately went to the shop and bought the other suit. He bought it not to wear, but to keep it. And he did this only to defend and protect Leon Lai!

Leon Lai News Today ~ 18/08/2005
The shock of the earthquake that happened in Sendai, Japan was felt even at Tokyo. The director and actors/actresses of Media Asia's new movie, "Heartfelt Friendship" (temporary translation) are currently filming the movie in Tokyo. Luckily, the earthquake occurred on 16 August, 11am, and all of them had not started work for the day yet. Most of the actors/actresses were resting in their hotel rooms, and some were even bathing.
Leon said, "I woke up early that morning. When the earthquake happened, I was sitting on my bed watching TV. First, I felt the bed was shaking, and even thought that it was my illusion. Then, all the things in the hotel room started to shake very violently. You could imagine that you are on top of a coconut tree, but the root of the tree keeps shaking, what will you do? That feeling was very scary. It's my first time experiencing an earthquake. Now, I only knew that when earthquake occurs, everything have to leave it with fate."
The director, Alan Mak said, "I was bathing. As the whole room kept shaking, it was quite scary, but I wasn't scared at all. After the earthquake, I immediately called Leon, because he was staying at the 50+ floor of the hotel, the shaking would be more violent than us on the 5th floor. When I made a video call to him, and saw that he was still smiling, I knew he wasn't scared."
On the other hand, Leon had gone to Taiwan to film a music movie earlier. In one of the scene, the co-actress had to reveal her back, which made her very nervous, and still did not complete the scene after many times of NG. Finally, Leon had to ask the director to clear the crew from the place, then it went smoothly. The MV of the first-plugged song, "Man with Love" premiered worldwide today on MTV Channel.

Setelah lebih 3 minggu di Tokyo, semalam abang Leon kiter ni selamat kembali semula ke Hong Kong tengahari tadi... alhamdulillah... al-maklum lah kat Jepun skrg ni slalu dilanda taufan sampai manyak flight kena delay....
at atas ni gambo dia kat airport... uikss... hamboih.... kaler karat nampak rambut tu.... hishh... tak elok la, bang.... ingat cantik sangat ler tu.... heeeee.... mesti sbb dia blakon dlm filem baru yg dia kena jadik gigolo tuh.... kena kaler rambuts lak... haiyaaa....
Malam ni pulak ada show CEO dgn artis2 A Music.... wahhh... hensem la bang... cuma slek kat rambut dier tu... tak berkenan sungguh aku tengok... waa.... cepat la back to black sebelum aku termuntah nanti.... huhuhu..

Leon, who is currently filming a movie a Japan, especially returned to Hong Kong to attend "CEO East Asia Tour 2005" concert, where he sang his new song, "Man with Love", "Let Go", "Everything Must Go", and "A Promise".Originally, he was supposed to attend the Venice Film Festival with "Seven Swords", but as they are still filming the movie, he could not attend the film festival. After that, he would have to prepare for his concert starting from 10 October - 15 October 2005. He said that he would only hold 6 shows as the Hong Kong Coliseum is already fully booked and they could not extend. Asked whether he would be involved in the production of the concert, he said that his responsibility is only the singer, not the producer, so he would leave it to the producer to think of ideas.

Artikel ni merupakan artikel lama... tapi boleh dijadikan renungan & panduan. Tak ada apa salahnya individu yang hartawan & popular turun padang & melibatkan diri secara agresif dalam aktiviti2 kebajikan & amal. Yang penting, mesti ikhlas bila buat perkara2 begini & ada komitmen tersendiri... bukan utk publisiti murahan semata2. Kalau ada lagi 1000 orang artis seperti Leon di dalam dunia ini, sudah cukup baik. Semoga akan muncul lebih ramai bintang yg benar2 prihatin seperti Leon Lai... bintang yang cakap serupa bikin!! Bila dia cakap, dia akan buat & buktikan...
Memang bagus sgt kalau kita ada artis tempatan yg prihatin mcm Leon ni... memanglah ada beberapa kerat artis kita yang prihatin, tapi nampaknya perkara ni semacam bermusim. Elok kalau dibuat secara berterusan. Apa perasaan kita sebagai masyarat tempatan sekiranya Leon Lai pulak yang dtg ke negara kita menghulurkan bantuan, sbb Leon adalah representative UNICEF di peringkat international... UNICEF Ambassador Leon Lai - trip to Brazil 1998
United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Special Representative to Youth, Leon Lai, recently visited Brazil with UNICEF. Yesterday afternoon, he attended an exhibition where he talked about his trip to Brazil and showed the photos taken in Brazil. At the same time, he promoted the sales of the limited edition of MTR cards which are sold to raise funds for UNICEF. About his feelings after the trip, he thinks that the process was very happy. What he had seen was different from what he had thought, because the people there suffer with happiness. They are satisfied with what they have and do not have any demands. This had changed his atitude towards doing charity. He realised that he must look at things from many different sides.
He said that this trip had enlightened him. He should be happy with what he had, so that he could balance his greed and desires appropriately. He thinks that everyone has greed sometimes, and this should be balanced for a while. At the same time, one should use different perspectives to see one's life, and learn how to create happiness out of the suffering. He knew how to create happiness out of the suffering, but he could not tell the method to alleviate stress, because it depends on the situation.
He said, Brazil's basic education is not enough. In addition, there is a large gap between the rich and the poor and because their religion does not allow abortions, their birth rate is very high. Unfortunately, part of the population do not have any education and thus, their moral values are not strong enough and problems between people arise. Once, eight kids threw stones at a policeman beside a school and in a rush of anger, he killed all of them. In the end, the policeman was given a life sentence. Therefore, a good education is very important as it can help to reduce crime rate. Besides, some children are forced by their parents to cut sugar canes to earn money and they cannot go to school, so UNICEF will set aside some funds to finance these children to receive basic education.
As the children population is very large, Leon visited some children there. Once the children saw him, they swarmed towards him and even gave some handmade souvenirs to him. Leon also played soccer with them. Since Brazil is a soccer kingdom, the children's soccer skills were very good. Leon said, "Although they are very young, but their skills are very good. Even I am not as good as them."
During the trip, he also visited the child-prostitutes and tried to understand their psychology. One of them took drugs and "highly" accepted his interview. There was once after work when he went to have his meal, an old lady brought along a five-year-old girl to beg on the streets. He was attracted by the girl's cute smile and gave her some money. Then, through a translator, he asked her if she begs to support herself, when she is fifteen or sixteen years old, what can she do? He encouraged her to study during daytime, then beg at night. He had said this because they had fate.

Leon visited a street children centre and interviewed a street kid who takes drugs. Suddenly, during the interview, the street kid blacked out and everyone did not know what to do.
Leon interviewed a 15-year-old teenager who has been raped. She becomes a drugs trafficker in order to support her 2-year-old son.
