iyelah kan...i think i will buy the entrance tix online la.. i'm really really short of time..so, i need to maximize my time and squeeze everything in... palatin hill dan forum tu i bajet satu jam for both... Muzium vatican tu worth x masok..? tiket mahal la tapi...

itula midori...i ingat nak belik ajela online.. last week, i baru belik open tour bas tiket tu... i x berapa suka naik tp pasal ada 3 hari ja, so i pon belik ajala tiket tu.. dapat diskaun 2 euro sorang...so, instead of 22 euro, kami dapat 20 euro per pax for 24 hrs ride... tp mcm u ada banyak masa kat sana, x payah naik hoho rasanya kan...

my personal view kalau dah sampai rome for the 1st time rugi kalau tak masok vatican city sbb kiranya you get to see what these people are up to and see how they accumulate their wealth and ada lah benda2 yg kita tak terpk we'll see and realised then..
contohnya kalau you suka art kan...you akan dpt tgk the most magnificent work of rafael...
punyalah pandai the Popes ambik and acquire the most beautiful things that man can create...
mostly drawings sculpture... semua tak ternilai dgn money...how???
pastu dorang ada euro dorang sendiri..
lela nak tepek gambar2 tp malas betul nak upload sbb tenet slow gila...
hope you'll consider walaupun mahal tp alang2 dah sampai rome kan..
xmo nnt jd cam lost opportunity pulak but then again maybe not everybody's cup of tea...

Lela, I will definately go to Vatican City and also p st peter's bisilica tu... but now i'm still contemplating whether to enter the vatican museum or not... i guess i will have to decide on that day..kalau org x ramai, i akan masuk tp kalau terlalu ramai, then i just have to make do with visiting vatican city n the church only... ;)

Dia cover ni 3, colosseo, palatino, Roman Forum. Berry amek skali ngan underground tour. Cost seorang
21.50euro... tapiii best lah kott sbb tayah berator pon.. sampai2 skipped semua tu then terus masuk dalam, and ikut guide pusing2... kalau u nak amik headset bagai tu pun sama jugak ada memang satu counter unter omni ni haa kat dlm colosseum ni... tak ramai sgt pun masa berry pi last time yg dah purchase ticket in advance.

the most interesting part of the vatican are their museum and frescoes...
apart from their garden and architecture...
kalau tak nak masuk museum then your decision not to visit the vatican is verily justifiable..
the queues are unavoidable..even if you are with a tour and have a 'cut the queue' ticket you would still have to queue because upon entering everyone has to go through a thorough security scanning before going in...
For intance I am holding a student card and am entitled for some discount...but it being the vatican, I had to show my card to prove my entitlement...
Memang dia tak kasik muka but they're very curtious...
their Swiss Army sentiasa jer ada dok perati... the swiss army..........
now that is another story altogether...

Basic info for Rome from my notes...tak ingat dah kat mana dapat sbb sambil buat research dulu terus masok dlm my notes..hope these boleh bantu kawan2 yg nak ke Rome..
ARRIVING IN ROME
Rome has two major airports: Rome's main airport:
"Leonardo da Vinci" still frequently known by its old name, Fiumicino for scheduled flights and
"Ciampino" which handles mainly charter flights and business aviation.
TRAVELLING FROM ROME FIUMICINO AIRPORT (LEONARDO DA VINCI AIRPORT) TO TERMINI
The airport lies 16 miles south west of Rome and is linked to the city by train and by road.
The Leonardo Express is the direct train that serves the route between the airport and the centre of the city of Rome every 30 minutes with a journey time of 30 minutes to the central station, Termini.
Ticket costs approximately EUR11, and are available at the counter as well as news-stands, get your ticket stamped in a yellow validation machine just before using it. Ticket expires 90 minutes after validation.
Terravision Shuttle Bus
The bus line Terravision serves the route between the airport and the central station of Rome, Termini.
Tickets cost approximately EUR9; the journey takes about 70 minutes with 7 services a day.
TRAVELLING FROM ROME CIAMPINO AIRPORT TO TERMINI CENTRAL STATION
The airport lies 7 miles south east of Rome.
There is no direct train connection from Ciampino Airport to Termini station in Rome.
The nearest railway station to Ciampino Airport is Ciampino Città, connected to the airport by the by a 5 minute Cotral or Schiaffini operated bus departing every 30 minutes.
Terravision or SIT Shuttle Bus
From Ciampino, arguably the most popular direct link to the centre for visitors is the Terravision or SIT coach service.
The airport is a relatively small single terminal airport.
On exiting customs turn left going through the doors outside. Bear left and there is a coach stand on your left. There will probably be other passengers waiting and an airport-coach representative who will assist you.
The journey lasts approximately 40 minutes and costs approximately EUR4.
GETTING AROUND IN ROME
The city centre is a fabulously beautiful place and meandering through its streets exploring for yourself can be one of life's most delightful pastimes. The Rome Metro has just two lines intersecting at Rome's Termini Station.
Although limited, it’s worth using where you can as it’s by far quicker than any surface transport. Rome’s busses are very comprehensive and frequent.

The busses: Public buses run a very comprehensive and frequent system running from about 05:30 hrs to midnight daily. These bus services are supplemented by night services that run all night along the core routes.
In general, the busses are used for very short journeys and as a feeder service to the metro and train networks and will often find you have a wide choice of routes going where you need to, especially in the town centre.
The metro: the system has just two lines named A and B, the lines intersect at Rome Termini Station, the main public transport hub in Rome. The metro misses much of the city centre; however, there are stations next to the Coliseum / Roman Forum and Spanish Steps and within 5 minutes’ walk of the Vatican.
Tickets / fares: All local public transport is integrated in Rome and tickets must be purchased before you board any public transport in Rome.
Tickets for both the bus system and metro can be purchased from tobacconists, coffee bars, or vending machines at metro stations and major bus stops.
Tickets cost EUR1.00 for one Metro ride or 75 minutes on all buses or EUR4.00 for a daily ticket, valid for unlimited metro, bus, and train travel within Rome.

agak2 berapa jam nak abis masa kat vatican tu..? i ada one solid day kat sana..here is my iten secara general
1st day: sampai dah ptg, dalam kol 4 check in hotel.. so, i p trevi, spanish steps dan sekitarnya
2nd day: collesio, forum, palatin hill. Then, head to vatican city (vatican n st. peter's). Piazza Venezia in the evening. Malam nak p HRC, belik t-shirt.
3rd day: No place in particular..jalan2 sekitar hotel je la kot, tangkap2 gmbar.. pasal nak naik bas kol 11 ke airport..
I naik bas HOHO, just to save time and to see Rome at a glance in a short time... Anything u can add for me here..? tq

kat vatican tu adalah dlm 2 jam lebih or was it 3 hours....
and nnt kalau you ambik mana2 tour, pilih yg ada audio facility sbb kadang2kan kita tak dengar apa yg guide cerita kalau takde facility ni...
tour yg lela ambil nearly semua yg ada facility ni..
dan ada yg nnt dok menempel nak tumpang sekaki nak join group free..
for example nnt masuk dlm sistine chapel satu bunyik pun tak boleh buat dan siap swiss army dok perati..
so masa ni nnt guide akan talk to us through the audio thingy tapi dia dok luar sistine chapel and tell us where to look..
jadi kelakar lah pulak bila semua yg dlm group kami dok toleh kiri kanan depan belakang in a synchronized manner and nnt ada group lain lak yg buat camtu sbb guide dorang la pulak dok citer kat dorang...
lepas tour boleh lah cari lunch kat luar tu sbb ada kedai kebab corner shop on the way to the station...
then maybe you can jln2 around the colloseum waktu malam sbb bila mlm the place will be lighted...
around rome waktu malam sangat2 lah cantik sbb the romans are very good at these kinda things..
kalau paris (minus tour eiffel) and london... rome mmg cantik waktu malam...you'll have a ball...!!!

Thanxs lela for the tips... Yup, a few people did tell me that collesium ni memang cntik di waktu mlm... ada jugak i baca tntang org komplen audio yg x baper jelas... tp x pa, we pray 4 the best! lagik 2 minggu lagik... can't wait...
