Steve Sidwell's double earned Reading their fourth successive win in the Barclays Premiership as they stayed on course for a European spot with a 2-0 home win over Aston Villa.
The midfielder struck his third and fourth goals of the campaign to maintain the Royals' unbeaten start to 2007 and strengthen their place in the top six.

Reading have four strikers desperate to face United in the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford on Saturday.
It is rarity for Reading boss Steve Coppell to have Shane Long, Kevin Doyle, Dave Kitson and Leroy Lita all fit. But with Doyle due for a run out in the reserves this week, the strikers are hoping to give Coppell a selection headache ahead of Saturday's last 16 tie.
"Playing at United is every player's dream and obviously I want to be there," said 19-year-old Reading front man Long, who has missed both league games against the Reds this season, a 1-1 draw at the Madejski and a 3-2 Reds win in Manchester.
"I don't know if I'll play at Old Trafford, we'll have to see what happens. I've missed both games against them this season so hopefully it will be third time lucky for me.
"Kevin and Kits are back fit and there's me and Leroy as well, so the manager has four strikers to pick from for a change. I'll just keep my head down in training, work hard and hopefully I'll get a run out."
Since losing 3-2 to United in the Premiership on 30 December, Reading have gone eight games unbeaten and scored an astounding 23 goals, three more than the Reds.
Sir Alex faces some tough selection decisions of his own, with kick-off in the Champions League last 16 first leg tie with Lille lurking barely 72 hours after final whistle against Reading. |
