I don't think United are playing well and i do think Liverpool are playing well, however this matter isn't helped by the fact that when teams play United they play with so much fight, determination and ambition; which is perfectly fine (can't complain about that). But the thing that annoys me is that when these same teams play Liverpool; they just conceive defeat right from the start, show no ambition to take and fight the game to Liverpool and instead just go all defencive (they even defend badly).
Now you can say that these teams which play badly against Liverpool and good against us; only do so because Liverpool don't allow them to play well and United do allow them to play well. And yes to a certain extent you would be right. But i'm not talking so much about these teams performance but more about their mentality/character when they play Liverpool and us, because at the moment its completely different.
You don't need me to explain what teams are doing differently against us and Liverpool, as the examples of Fulham, Aston Villa & Blackburn; say it all. When these three teams played United they showed real intent to win, real gritty determination to work hard and also organisation (looked like they properly prepared for the game). However when these three teams played Liverpool they were like completely different teams; they had no ambition to attack, no effort to fight for the ball and no order/discipline (looked like they just turned up to the game with no plan).
I know we always have teams raise there games against us and that's always been the case and always will be, but the way the likes ofVilla, Fulham and Blackburn have played against Liverpool recently has been pathetic.
It said it all today when Blackburn played Liverpool, they played with a centre half (Samba) as a lone striker....whats that all about? Even with injuries they must have had someone at the club who was a striker and could have played rather than playing a centre half up there?
And did anyone notice Danny Murphy last week for Fulham?.....No i didn't either!
Without sounding too bitter or taking anything away from Liverpool as their performance deserve the wins their getting, but its made alot easier on them when the opposition don't close them down and just invite them to attack. So basically what i'm saying is "If teams played as good against Liverpool as they do against us, then things might be a bit different".

Champions League QF Vs Porto (07 & 15 April 2009)
Introduction
We play FC Porto on 07th at OT and on 15th in Portugal in the Champions League Quarter Finals. We have, in the Premier League, Aston Villa (home) on 04th, before the first leg with Porto and Sunderland (away) on 11th before the second leg.
By now, in this season of Champions League, we have already achieved what none of the title holders could do since 2004, get past the last 16 and qualify for the quarter finals. From 2004, Porto, Liverpool, Barcelona and AC Milan lost their campaigns of the next season, defending their titles, at the last 16 stage. And on May 27 at Rome, we will achieve what no body else was able to do so far since the introduction of the new format in 1992, retain the trophy.
The Porto team
They have won the championship in 1987 and in 2004
In 2004 (when they won the trophy by beating Monaco 3-0 in the finals) at the last 16 stage, we lost to them narrowly by a last minute injury time headed goal after being earlier disallowed a genuine goal scored by Paul Scholes. However, in 1997 QF when we played them, it was 2-0 at OT and 0-0 away.
Last season, Liverpool beat them 4-1in the group stages. This year they topped their group, even though they lost to Arsenel 0-4 at the Emirates, but beating them 2-0 at home. They currently lead their domestic league and their last five Champions League seasons results are - Win, Last 16, Group Stage, Last 16 and Last 16. This year, they beat Atletico Madrid in the pre quarter.
Jessualdo Ferreira is their Manager and even though the present team is not considered anywhere near the team of 2004 under Jose Mourinho, they have been consistently winning the Portugese league titles.
Well, we have Anderson with us who played for them before joining us.
The Porto team has a fair mix of players from Brazil and Argentina, Helton at the goal is from Brazil and the star striker Lisandro Lopez, who scored both the goals against Atletico, is from Argentina.
A typical formation for them, playing 4-3-3 will be,
Helton; Sapunaru, Bruno Alves, Rolando, Cissokho; Lucho Gonzalves, Fernando, Raul Meiretes; Hulk, Lisandro Lopez, Rodrigues.
They play attractive and offensive football that relies more on short passing rather than long aerial passes. This will certainly complement our own style of play and the match is bound to be a massive entertainer
