song main CB mase last few games for arsenal last season...n kat league cup pun die main CB partner ngan senderos..
si van persie ni winger sebenarnye...kat feyenoord, die main left/right wing. kadang2 je die main forward. tapi basically he's a forward playing on d wings. so wenger nak letak die main position bergkamp. tapi yang syoknye van persie ni, is dat he can play as both shadow striker cum attacking midfielder or as out n out striker n target man like adebayor.. |

Jack Wilshere (watch this space!)
did anyone watch arsenal's pre season matches n the emirates cup? i was looking forward to watching it on astro since the club's website announced its pre season fixture. but unfortunately, i cudnt watch it all n some of them were not shown here. I, like most Gooners wanted to watch our three new arrivals in action. Carlos Vela, Aaron Ramsey and Samir Nasri. Bischoff still in rehab n I put Vela in coz although technically he's an Arsenal player since 2005, he cudnt play for us untill now.
so, watching the pre season games (vs Stuttgart n d Emirates Cup), i can say dat Vela looks a little lost. but he did show a few tricks n accuracy, partnering quite well with bendtner against stuttgart (well taken goal using his weaker right foot). Aaron Ramsey was deployed in central midfield along with Denilson. He looked ok to be honest. i really did not see much of his real ability. but he's got vision n he's actually quite strong (managed to fend off n win d ball against bigger opponents). while our major signing, Samir Nasri was deployed on the left. But he was given d freedom to roam around d pitch, switching with walcott. tapi rasenye, he's still a bit shy n not so confidence in getting / asking for d ball. coz in my opinion, as a playmaker, u shud have the ball often. maybe nasri masih belum kamcing ngan rakan2 baru..so dat will have to wait a bit..
but there's a certain Jack Wilshere that really caught the fans n myself. firstly coz against stuttgart, he wore the no.7 shirt n made me really worried dat rosicky's gonna go (coz player lain sume pakai no. masing2, but turns out its nothing). but what i wanna say is, dat dis wilshere kid is really something!! selamber je dribble lepas 2-3 player..dis kid's got skills!! n he has an eye for a pass too!
quickfooted, pacey, good close control, no wonder some people are calling him the next hleb! but i dun want him to be the new hleb. i believe he can make his own name. or if we want a new legend, i'll say i want him to be the new Pires, coz he can certainly score.. just watch his goal in d game...n in d emirates cup yesterday against real madrid, he really showed some tenacity. there was a moment where when he got the ball on d left flank, n nobody was in front of him. so he started drifting inside, but Javi Garcia was there. Garcia tried to use his size n tackle him down. but wilshere just skipped past him n managed to send a fizzing ball across d goal (which nobody failed to get), but by dis time, the stadium was filled with oooohhss n aaahhhsss n applaude all around..
so i surfed around the net to find out more about him...16 years old, central attacking midfielder, can play on the wings (mostly right wing) or behind the strikers. he managed 16 goals overall last season for Arsenal U-18 n Reserves, n he was only promoted from the academy last season! so i bet, he will be promoted to the reserves in the coming new season, along with Nacer Barazite n Henry Lansbury. Although Barazite was THE player of the season for Arsenal reserves n u18, just watch wilshere...his name might be in d back of arsenal's jersey in 3 years...ngahahaha.. |
