A large floating prominence at the edge of the Sun, photographed last tuesday (27th Aug 2024) at 08:56 UTC. It was made with an H-alpha solar telescope, the image is a false colour image.
I put the Earth in this image (to scale) for a size comparison. You can find an unedited smartphone image (made with the solar telescope) of the Sun and the prominence in the comments.
